Hello,

I want to build a new project in asp.net.
Please suggest me what version of .Net and which is suitable reporting tools, i have to used.
Any free reporting tool which can be used along with .net, please suggest.

yours suggestions very important to me.

use 4.0 or 3.5 framework and you can use RDLC reporting tool already embedded in it but Crystal reports are much better than RDLC but not sure its a free ware or not.

I suggest of using latest versions what ever is you project is about, but if its specific choose one which supports your desired architecture.

using asp.net u can develop Local Interanet Application & Public Internet application.

if u are developing asp.net for public internet application. u take look for hosting proivders which support reporting tools.

for example if u developing asp.net application & hosted on Shared Server(Godaddy Hosting Server)In Many Shared Hosting Plans Then Don't provide reporting Tools Facility(Ex: Crystal Reports).

if ur developing for local Interanet Application Then Go for asp.net 3.5/4.0 which latest version available. & Crystal Reports for Reports.

U can use 3.5 and 4.0 dot net framework which is the latest,
for reporting tools SSRS u can use which best but this is depend on how big ur application has reporting features,
or you can use crystal reports but these are not free
