For my final year project, i am to create a software application that compresses data (audio,video & text). i really need help on how to go by it..thank u.

That's a pretty big and general topic. You'll have to narrow down your question to something technical for us to help you with this.

thanks Marcus, but i think in my proposal i narrowed it down to archive like zip and multimedia(audio and video) and text.

And what, you are hoping someone to do some of your work, and then you hope to graduate, get diploma, come to us and apply for a job, as if you could do it all by yourself?
