You could try Freelancer.com - but it's mostly full of idiots, and to get decent work isn't going to be easy no matter what site you use. You would need to stand out so experience will be key (and generally a bottom dollar price tag as well ... :sigh: )

It's the "Get clients" bit that is difficult to say. Do clients read articles here? Probably not.
I can honestly say that I've not been approached by any external clients as a direct result of my contributions here - except for "do my homework for me" idiots - in the 15 years I've been here.

Is it a good place to post good quality articles to backup your claims of experience and ability? Yes - it certainly can't hurt to have a good reputation here.
But that doesn't mean that clients will find you because of it - ask yourself how long it took to find this site, and you are a software developer. Would someone who needs a software developer find you here? Not so sure they would, and a assembler based specialization doesn't help because there are fewer tasks needing it. I was primarily a low level (Assembler and C) developer before a found this place and switched to mostly C# / desktop. :D

Check you you local chamber of commerce or whatever the local equivalent is - they may be able to point you in the direction of clients or marketing opportunities. But don't expect clients to drop into your lap no matter what you do (particularly with a very narrow focus) - they take time to cultivate, and you may have to work a lot cheaper than you expect to get started.

And do remember, do your best work every time. It's really hard to build a good reputation, but spectacularly easy to get a bad one: deliver buggy code late or over budget, and people remember and they do talk to each other. One moment of "That'll do!" can cost you a lot of clients.
