I didn't notice that yet as I'm using it usually just fullscreen on my Surface Pro.
Google Chrome, However displayed the content out of the box already way too small and the Menus etc. were so poorly designed, that you couldn't change any settings or something like that without using the Pen or a mouse. (Besides, Text and Images from the Menu etc. were all very blurry which didn't help the readabilty either). Chrome is my browser of choice when in Desktop Mode.
So yeah, I prefer Metro IE to Metro Chrome

It's no secret that people choose dumb passwords. But when a large database of passwords gets hacked and exposed, it can still be shocking that users still go with such easy-to-guess passwords. When "password" is #3 on the list, I despair for mankind

And then you get some morons that will complain about the lack of security from a software when they get hacked...

AngularDart is heavily inspired by AngularJS and is supercharged for Dart. Core Angular features such as directives, data binding, and dependency injection, are all there, and they've taken advantage of Dart's features like metadata, types, and classes to feel natural for Dart developers. AngularDart is also the first version of Angular to be built on emerging web standards like Shadow DOM.

The second paragraph is repeated in the Microsoft item below. I suspect it doesn't belong here.

We’re committed to the success of the developer community, and we’ve been proactively working with third-party development tool vendors to ensure that their developers can take advantage of the monetization opportunities and global user base on the Windows platforms. The latest of these shops is Marmalade, which just released the final version of Marmalade 7, their cross-platform C++ SDK that includes support for Windows Phone 8, ending the beta phase.
Hundreds of Marmalade developers have already taken advantage of the opportunity to develop for the Windows Phone Store, and to participate in Marmalade’s special offer*, with rewards for porting your app to the Windows Phone Store. The Marmalade offer closes on December 31, 2013, so don’t miss your chance to participate. Voulez-vous programmer avec moi ce soir?

Up until now, our open source repository has just included the EF runtime. We have now moved the EF Tooling code into the same open source repository. You can find instructions on how to work with the EF Tools code on our CodePlex site. Oh, that's how they did that

LINQ was one of the best things that happened to the .NET software engineering ecosystem in a long time. With its introduction of lambda expressions and monads in Visual Studio 2008, it had catapulted the C# language way ahead of Java, which was at version 6 at the time, still discussing the pros and cons of generic type erasure. var feature = from f in CS.features where f.supports(query) && f.contains("Anders' coolness") select f

Great news,
As a C#/Linq programmer I'm impressed with this new functionality on Java 8. This kind of investment can only bring improvements for the software development.
My answer to your question would be NO, java doesn't need LINQ.. for the java 8 development

Depression is a topic that many of us have struggled with over the years and we have always thought that there might be more people out there that did than, ‘just us’. We have been looking for someone who could do this subject justice for years and we asked Greg to do a half hour talk instead. Please watch it. If it doesn’t affect you directly, it is almost inconceivable that it doesn’t affect someone close to you. "Life? Don't talk to me about life." (video)

A 4TB four-platter Cinemastar drive could become a 7TB seven-platter helium drive, and a five-platter 4TB MegaScale, spinning at 5,700rpm, could become a 5.6TB Helium MegaScale with seven platters – at least that’s the theory.

Yeah - let's use a dwindling resource[^] that can't be replenished to make hard-drives! Can't see anything going wrong with that plan.
