The project plans to implement code reviews, fix poor coding, and have better documentation. "You tell me mistakes are part of being young, but that don't right the wrong that's been done"

Reading their actual roadmap[^], I think they could implement 90% of it now by forking the current LibreSSL release.
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Functional programming is the mustachioed hipster of programming paradigms. It only hurts for a little while

The next 30 years of innovation risk being wasted unless society does a better job of educating people about the potential - and downsides - of technology. That's it, we're doomed

Everyone really should watch that video. It is fantastic and will make you think new thoughts.
You can also watch the whiteboard-animation version of that talk. It is fantastic for many reasons:

UnityVS enables Unity developers to take advantage of the productivity of Visual Studio to author, browse and debug the code for their Unity applications. Already today, dozens of the biggest names in game development rely on Visual Studio and the UnityVS plugin. Do you want to play^H^H^H^H write a game?

In North America, they’re called Bigfoot or Sasquatch. In the Himalayan foothills, they’re known as yeti or abominable snowmen. And Russians call them Almasty. But in the scientific laboratory, these elusive, hairy, humanoid creatures are nothing more than bears, horses, and dogs. I'm shocked. SHOCKED!

This is caused by the water used to prepare the samples having the memory of previous DNA samples in it that caused the Sasquatch DNA to be mutated to look exactly like HorseBearDog.
(Also - on the homeopathy theme - my software doesn't have bugs but the computer is remembering other software that has run on it that did have bugs... )

Could this then be considered mutated or hybrid software then?
As I grow older I've found that pleasing everyone is impossible but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

I asked professor Heisenberg - he said it's too early to be certain, but in principal it is moving in that direction.

Microsoft is joining two key efforts, the Industrial Internet Consortium, and the AllSeen Alliance, to help drive the right set of industry outcomes for the Internet of Things (IoT). I don't think I like the sound of an "AllSeen Alliance"

It compiles to javascript. No matter what you do on the front end it's going to be a cluster-elephant.

Given its prevalence, open source code is virtually impossible to avoid, but the proper steps need to be taken address its vulnerabilities. Somebody should create an open source tool for that
|
|
|
|
|
The teaser tries to imply that open source is more of a risk. Read on, and you'll find more of these suggestions: "Avoiding open source completely is not an option".
I'd like to point out the obvious; one can only check if the source is available, meaning that these vulnerabilities in propriertary software will go unnoticed. And though it may not be an option to avoid open source, it is an option to avoid proprietary software.

This app ranks the popularity of dozens of programming languages. You can filter them by listing only those most relevant to particular sectors, such as web or embedded programming. Rankings are created by weighting and combining 12 metrics from 10 sources. We offer preset weightings for those interested in what's trending or most looked for by employers, or you can take complete control and create your own custom ranking by adjusting each metric's weighting yourself.
