Researchers from North Carolina State University and Samsung Electronics have found a way to boost the speed of computer applications by more than 9 percent. The improvement results from techniques that allow computer processors to retrieve data more efficiently. Which allows developers to be 9% lazier

The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health reports computer vision syndrome affects about 90% of the people who spend three hours or more a day at a computer, which means almost everyone in our industry is susceptible. "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king."
Yes, you can do it until you need glasses.

Good thing I'm easily distracted and look out the window or leave the room so often. I can do that 'leave the room' thing because I work at home.

I was a baseball player and had very good vision. After about 5 years in the industry, my vision was 15/20. Now after 16 years in the industry, I sometimes just see blurs and in the summer I can't see anything when leaving work and walking through the parking lot on sunny days. I have made adjustments, but it definitely is a problem I'm experiencing and getting away from the computer does wonders.

Get a better monitor or get your eyes looked at - I've been in front of a computer for 10+ hours a day for over 30 years and the only deterioration I can put down to age.

Eyes become less flexible with age. Sensitivity to light may (MAY) be an indicator of an underlying disease. I suggest going to an ophthalmologist just to be sure.

Thanks for the advice. I am planning to get a full physical soon and the eyes will be addressed. I've been noticing that I enjoy being in dim or dark rooms.

Just 21 percent of Internet users feel threatened by anything online, including malware, viruses, fraud, etc. Which probably explains why we have so many problems

It’s been three long months since Microsoft announced a new figure for Windows 10 usage. But the firm today said that there now over 400 million active Windows 10 devices around the world. The other 60% will come around in a version or three

Artificial intelligence has already been used to create a short film, snippets of angst-ridden poetry, and even the odd avant-garde melody. But the YouTube video above might just be the first pop song written by AI — and it's almost certainly (probably) a dire warning for humanity. I thought machines have been writing pop songs for a while now?

Not a bad idea - especially for third party libraries. Falls down a bit when copy-pasta coder gets going though.
