However, with Windows 7 approaching its end of extended support in less than three years, Microsoft is once again cautioning enterprise customers and other users to upgrade to Windows 10. And by "modern technology" they mean...?

Similarly, time is needlessly wasted on combating malware attacks that could have been avoided by upgrading to Windows 10.
I consider Windows 10 auto update to be malware. And certainly in my limited experience, it has caused more time wasting than any other malware I've ever encountered. Oh wait, I actually have never encountered malware except for what Microsoft produces.

In other words, Windows 7 won't be part of Skynet.

Obviously they're referring to the new and improved data-mining included in Windows 10 Improving silly things like user experience is in the past. Modern technology is all about that big data.

With the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL), you can now run Linux binaries natively on Windows 10. With WSL, you can now run native Bash on Ubuntu on Windows. And then install a VM of Win10 in it, and start over again
See how deep the rabbit hole goes!

The way that reads, it is easier to install Ubuntu and use Qemu or the like to run it in Windows.

I imagine that if I make a comment about spiritual science or the brain "simply" being the physical organ for the soul to express itself, and the so forth, I will be the laughing stock of the community.

It's like a computer that skipped over programming languages, object orientation, and all the stuff that we do with computers, and went straight to AI.
It had quite a while to get good at it.

Like spicy food? If so, you might live longer, say researchers at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, who found that consumption of hot red chili peppers is associated with a 13 percent reduction in total mortality - primarily in deaths due to heart disease or stroke—in a large prospective study. So, say 'yes' to that curry
Yes, I know not all curries are hot. No need to 'inform' me.

Yes, I'm thoroughly convinced my colon tumor wasn't cancerous because I'm a regular consumer of red pepper... Have been since 5 years old.
