But that's not an issue of "open source" vs "proprietary", but of fundamental design.

True, but it is an issue of it being "closed access" and "proprietary"

for communication by open source projects is that these services are not open.
Which is the point.
Look, this is how I approach open source:
- You are free to use whatever I write.
- I will most likely ignore anything you attempt to contribute to my project because the premise is, you are an idiot and don't have a clue how to write code, not to mention in the style and architecture that I expect it to be written and that meaningfully contributes to my code.
- I do not want to talk to you, see you, get pull requests, or in any other way know that you even exist unless:
a. you are already someone I know and trust
b. you are someone recommended to me by someone I know and trust - If critera 3a and 3b are met, then and only then may you join my private Slack channel.
Open source does not mean "open to idiots and their idiotic chatter."
(OK, I should have just said that.)

The architect of the world wide web laid out a scenario where AI could become the new masters of the universe by creating and running multitudes of companies better and faster than humans "So when AI starts to make decisions such as who gets a mortgage, that's a big one."

From today, we’re dropping Google adverts from GroundUp. The Google advertising model is broken: not for Google of course, which is massively profitable, but for us, the publishers who have to put up with poor quality, misleading adverts in exchange for small change. Their ads are down, let's give them lots of traffic!

They need to include an explanation as a part of output when learning. Then it will spit out answer as well as explanation of its decision; if done correctly.

I suspect it's quite often that the creators don't want to explain how it works because it's just some brute force calculations.

Neural nets are starting to wake up. These pickup lines, generated by a neural net maintained by research scientist Janelle Shane are much more interesting than standard pickup lines. The AI will take over!

So, no, she doesn't.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.
