Ohio appears set to become the first state to accept bitcoin for tax bills, a show of support for a technology that has garnered lots of hype but failed to gain traction as a form of payment. Article is behind a subscriber wall (not payable with BitCoins)

Article said: Beginning this week, Ohio businesses will be able to go to the website OhioCrypto.com and register to pay everything from cigarette sales taxes to employee withholding taxes with bitcoin. Eventually, the initiative will expand to individual filers.

The way bitcoin is going, you won't be able to buy or pay for anything with it soon

I bought some as an experiment and as I watch it the value is now down to 9% of what it was when I bought it!
I shall continue to watch it until I become either a millionaire or rounding errors reduce it's value to zero.

The article has links to some programmer's music web sites also.

Lately it's been TED talks and Podcasts, which is a departure from the normal hard rock or metal.

I like podcasts too.
If I listen to music, it is usually something 'middle of the road'. If I get into it too much, I get distracted.

Wow, the ability to concentrate on two things at once is amazing.
I can't even listen to music with lyrics and code.

Oh I wish.
I catch bits of them, and they give me something to chew on while working, which is great when doing XAML work or the like.
I end up listening to the same ones more than once when working or real stuff, though, and often will go back to music.

Last week, The Guardian reported that Google may shut down Google News in Europe if the “link tax” is implemented in a way that the company has to pay news publishers. I didn't think they needed an excuse to kill a service?
