Assuming that the hardware is ready within 10 years, that means 100,000 people each 30-day period, and 1000 starship launches. These require 5,000-10,000 tanker launches over a period of 25 months (7-13 launches/day). All this to be built within the next 10 years?!
Even if his figures are accurate, no organization has come within orders of magnitude of that many launches per day.

Don't forget we multiply.
If he puts a quarter million couples on Mars (so 2 x 250,000) by 2049, he can have his million nine months later
|
|
|
|
|
Why bother with couples?
Assuming:
- Women use artificial insemination (no need for men )
- Women arrive every 26 months (after Earth-Mars closest approach)
- Each woman starts having children as soon as she arrives, and has one child every 26 months
Those that arrive in 2031 would have 10 children by 2050
Those that arrive in 2033 would have 9 children by 2050
…
Those that arrive in 2049 would have 1 child by 2050
For each 10 women arriving (one per cohort), we have 55 children, i.e. 550% growth. We therefore need to send only 160,000 fertile women (and 1 sperm bank) to Mars.
Mars needs Moms!

Recognizing the inherent risks in trusting open source software, we created a source code analyzer called Microsoft Application Inspector to identify “interesting” features and metadata, like the use of cryptography, connecting to a remote entity, and the platforms it runs on. It needs a scripting language to allow customization. That way whenever anyone asks if it looks for Foo, you can just tell them: "The check is in the MAIL."
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

At 7.44% Internet Explorer still has more market share than Edge and only slightly less than Firefox. It is therefore good news that Microsoft is set to fix a flaw in the browser which could result in Remote Code Execution if some-one visits a specially crafted website using the software. It's just like the old days
I'd hope that people weren't still using IE, but I have some apps that require it still.

Options they have so far:
• “Global”: as today, anyone can reply to a global tweet.
• “Group”: only people who you follow can reply, as well as anyone mentioned in the tweet.
• “Panel”: only people mentioned in the tweet can reply.
• “Statement”: no one can reply.
• "Certain-colored": anyone who grossly misuses tanning lotions or sprays.Of course, this will be of great help to people who want to lie or spread false information, because rebuttal will not be so practical.

It'll just re-solidify the platform as an echo-chamber. Twitter is a dumpster fire of the worst garbage anyway, this will probably help reduce a lot of the "hate" but will probably push people away from the platform too as they are not able to join in to tackle bad takes.
Another potential issue is with the recent court rulings in America that says Trump can't block people as it is against their 1A rights. Not just Trump, but any politician however high-level Democrats like AOC simply ignore this ruling and block anyway with no consequence. If they roll this system out no doubt courts will decree that Trump must leave his tweets open to all, but Democrats will set theirs so that only their cronies can respond. Again, breaking the law with zero consequence as it's laws for thee but not for me.

Well, yahoo! groups is closing, so twitter is probably hoping to take over that market, with hundreds of thousands of little private tweet groups.
It certainly demonstrates that twitter was a bad idea, when its lords and masters decide to roll back the clock and make it into just another "old-time" message-group/newsgroup/bulletin-board site -- but limited to 140 chars per posting (or whatever the limit is now).
It was a cute experiment, maybe, but even its owners seem to realise that it's time for the experiment to end.

I did find that site amusing that listed all the people who were not at home, according to their tweets telling the world that they were having coffee at starbucks, or whatever.
Even that amusement only lasted for a few two-minute visits, though.
