The latest hip cool thing will soon be to expire a version before it's been released...

Have you ever compromised your values for professional gains at work? Some of your co-workers certainly would. "Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"

Quite so. Politics is an ongoing example of where dishonesty still gets rewarded.

I read the entire article and saw the various unethical behaviors that the article called out, but I did not see one line that said, "workers will steal proprietary info".
Can someone tell me where that is in the article? Just curious.

Game theory, innit.
Even if you don't wish to act unethically, once you establish that others are acting unethically (and, worse, that it directly leads to career advancement and success) then it becomes irrational to hold back.
If everyone else (well everyone else who is doing well) is cheating, the only way to compete successfully is to cheat as well. See also certain sports, of course.

The FCC voted today to allow unlicensed use of the 6GHz wifi spectrum, the goal of which is to help unclog the current 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, expand wifi through rural America, and help consumers take full advantage of the new WiFi 6 standard. Bad news for the tinfoil hat crowd, now they'll need a third layer

Google is adding a new feature to search today that will let you know when it thinks the search results it’s offering aren’t that good. Just in case the "0 results returned" wasn't a good enough clue

That's a clever way to get a reload, for more ads. I anticipate a lot more useless results...

I hope they never screw with the verbatim search option. I install the Verbatim Search tool on all my Chromium broswers as a default, and very seldom use non-verbatim because the results are so bad that way!
