Common data models, a cloud just for this vertical and IoT for monitoring patients: Microsoft is taking on healthcare once again. "Did you try turning the patient off and then on again?"

South Korean vehicle manufacturer Hyundai Motor Group has announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in the U.S robotics firm Boston Dynamics. I connected the string to a picture of a robot dog I'd tacked to the board. The string connected to Hyundai, South Korea, and Hamburgers. I knew they were all connected, but what did it all mean?

What does it all mean, you ask?
Koreans will be eating robotic dogs in the future and will be spared the opprobrium for eating real dogs,😂😂😂
PS. It is a joke. Sorry if I offended anybody.
PPS. I have been watching the Korean serials ‘Tale of the Nine-Tailed’ and ‘18 Again’ on TV recently. No, they didn’t show anyone eating dog in those shows so that didn’t influence my joke.

In 2016 North Korean hackers planned a $1bn raid on Bangladesh's national bank and came within an inch of success. "It all started with a malfunctioning printer."

My only memory of Bangladesh is George Harrison raising money for starving people there. Is it wrong that that one memory caused me to do a double take about the Bangladesh national bank having $1bn in it? Or that the same memory at the same moment made me think that N Korea was rather silly to try to steal money from that bank?
I'm old and horrible.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

The population of Bangladesh was 163 million (2019), which works out to USD 6 per person. They're not exactly drowning in foreign currency.

Massachusetts launched a COVID tracking app, and uh, it was automatically installed?! Clearly the lesson here is to not make silently push-installed applications visible to the user.

Immortality and everlasting youth are the stuff of myths, according to new research which may finally end the eternal debate about whether we can live for ever. Who dares to love forever~ Oh oo wooooh, when love must die

A beautiful example of the press using a misleading headline for reporting scientific results. There's a huge difference between "study proves ageing process is unstoppable", and the actual conclusion of "study suggests evolutionary biology trumps everything and, so far, medical advances have been unable to beat these biological constraints".

This last year makes me wonder if newspapers shouldn't be banned from reporting on science.

Just this last year?!

No, not really, but it feels like an exponential process. If you excuse my pun.

ID.me's CEO says unemployment fraud is costing taxpayers $400 billion, but his own company is denying claims because of problems with its tech, users say. "What could go wrong?" Turns out, everything.

Sound a lot like the Canadian-produced "Affordable Care Act" software crashing the first day once it actually had a bunch of users.

I had to use ID.me. It's the worse big web site/service I've used. It seems to me to be a giant con to get money out of governments (who willingly pay precisely because it's such a failure.)

Microsoft’s “next generation” of Windows event is taking place later this week, on June 24th at 11AM ET. Thanks to a big Windows 11 leak, we already have a good idea of what to expect from Microsoft’s event. Yes, but can they tell me which programs will break after I install it?
