Most Windows 10 devices that do not meet the minimum system requirements will stay on that version of Windows, but what happens when Windows 10 runs out of support in 2025? I'm going to guess, "nothing"?
I'm sure there are more than a few XP and Vista machines still running (more-or-less) happily.

I remember a speech by Satya Nadella, around when Windows 10 came out, speaking about "Windows as a Service".
Pretty bad service if you ask me

I'm still running an NT 4.0 VM on Windows 10 (connected to the outside world only via shared folders on the host, of course).
I use it to run some very old software that can convert from obsolete Hebrew word processors to Word 6 format. Once I have the document in Word 6 format, converting it to docx is trivial.
(Yes, I still have occasional need for such things. It's been a life-saver for some of my father's old documents.)

In place of the standard barcodes affixed to products, which may be removed or detached or become otherwise unreadable over time, these tags are unobtrusive (due to the fact that they are invisible) and far more durable, given that they're embedded within the interior of objects fabricated on standard 3D printers. I'm sure this will never be misused - Infrared edition

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

Microsoft is rolling out a preview of its Lists app that doesn't require a Microsoft 365 subscription -- a move that seems to be part of its MetaOS strategy. Just in case you've filled up all your PostIt notes

For those unfamiliar with Uno Platform, it allows C# and XAML developers to build single-codebase applications for Windows, WebAssembly, iOS, macOS, Android and Linux. Maybe you can make it to dos

So.. how does Uno compare to Xamarin?

Well, one is a 1, the other a 10-amarin.

A first look at AI Doc Writer VS code extension Then they came for me, and I said, "Do you want to play a game?"
Meh. Pretty sad that one. But what do you expect from an AI?

Well, to be fair, machine enforced code comment like: you must comment each public method, more often than not lead to extremely useful comment like (sarcasm)
public int Value
{
get => m_value;
}

Throughout my career, the biggest mistake I see engineers make is doing too much work on their own before looping in others. I always thought it was mistaking '=' for '=='

I thought it was not dry cleaning your code. Followed by not putting legs on avatars.

Looping in is senior management speak. The writer's opinions can therefore be faded--vigorously.

It is a common thing to say that reflection is slow.You will find tons of posts saying this, and I generally tend to agree to them, although in most cases we generally don’t need to care that much – in fact, so many libraries and frameworks that we rely on daily depend on it! Something to reflect upon

I use reflection in pretty much every app I write.
It's pretty handy when you need to move data from a model to a viewmodel and back, especially considering that the model schema will often not match the viewmodel schema.

The 2D emoji in Windows 11 could be just temporary Just like none of you asked for
I guess the icons are all done, so time to update the emoji?

I had this vision of Microsoft releasing a patch solely of 3D emojis and suddenly patched computers burst into flames.

Combine this with the AI that can make talking faces, and pretty soon you'll have the next incarnation of Clippy! Then they will bring back Microsoft Bob! They will call it Windows 13 - the last version EVAR!!! The universe will have come full-circle! Yay!
ps - Control panel will still have a Windows 3.1 interface.
