I think this project will likely head due south at the most inopportune moment.
What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

A study of GitHub projects and the languages used to build them finds that certain language characteristics are more likely to result in better software. Imperative programmers, throw off your shackles! You have nothing to lose but determinate behaviour. And mutability.
"Languages with unmanaged memory type introduce more memory errors." Shocking!

Many are suggesting that everyone learn computer programming, and that coding be a core component of our educational system. Here's a more measured approach. Step 1: Learn to think

everyone needs to learn to ...
Cook, clean, sew, fix things, budget, etc.
|
|
|
|

That'd be much more valuable
After cooking a few meals outside of my parents house, I quickly installed a fire-alarm. It has saved my arse quite some times.
The text that "everyone should learn programming" is coming from some outdated dimwits from the teaching-industry that does not even know the difference between "operating" a computer and "programming" one. Schooling should be banned, and education reinstated.

I can see teaching code as a good way to introduce logic, but then it would just be a tool as opposed to a goal in itself.
