It’s been three long months since Microsoft announced a new figure for Windows 10 usage. But the firm today said that there now over 400 million active Windows 10 devices around the world. The other 60% will come around in a version or three

I wonder how much data MS is slurping from all those installs?

With that definition you could also say that javascript <spit> is ready for enterprise.

Artificial intelligence has already been used to create a short film, snippets of angst-ridden poetry, and even the odd avant-garde melody. But the YouTube video above might just be the first pop song written by AI — and it's almost certainly (probably) a dire warning for humanity. I thought machines have been writing pop songs for a while now?

Microsoft is making available to its customers one of the most sophisticated tools it has for rooting out potential security vulnerabilities in software including Windows, Office and other products. "I swear it's Springfield's only choice. Throw up your hands and raise your voice"

When developers and suppliers carefully list the tools used to build an application and what third-party components are included, IT can improve software patching and updates. *may contain nuts

Not a bad idea - especially for third party libraries. Falls down a bit when copy-pasta coder gets going though.

I work in medical devices and we're required to keep a list of software that we use. We spell out which libraries, version number and download link in case of an audit.

Windows Server 2016 will be generally available by mid-October. Microsoft's Azure Stack hybrid system is hitting Technical Preview today. With all the new features I couldn't be bothered to look up
And probably a lot of Azure integration.

What I want to know is when will it be specifically available?

Can someone explain Microsoft that not all were in love the mainframe?

In this post, I’ll focus on how we’re making this plan a reality with .NET Standard. We’ll cover which APIs we plan to include, how cross-framework compatibility will work, and what all of this means for .NET Core. "And now you have 15 standards"

Standards are good, we should have lots and lots of them!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

I can't wait for .NET Standard Super Plus.

I did not write this:
r = new System.Drawing.Rectangle(ExtensionMethods.TopLeftCorner(DisplayRectangle), new Size(anchorSize, anchorSize));
I had written:
r = new Rectangle(DisplayRectangle.TopLeftCorner(), new Size(anchorSize, anchorSize));
When the elephant did VS2015 decide to refactor my code???

the gods can manifest anywhere.
«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008
