Absolutely!
It has been categorically proven, many times, that when a project is behind schedule, the best thing to do is randomly throw more programmers at it!
It never fails!*
* The project always fails, but "it" never does -- just ask the project managers.

So much is written about happiness at work — yet judging from Gallup statistics that show 85% of employees aren’t engaged, few know how to attain it. It makes the boss think they haven't done their job
(And that makes *them* sad at work)

I'm ahead of the curve by never being happy to begin with. Take that Harvard.

This is bollocks.
Case in point: No matter how hard I try to make You feel miserable, you're still that annoyingly affable and chirpy Canadian ice-hockey-player type, eh?

Let's speak clear... being happy at work, is a lottery. If you find something like that, good for you.
But not being happy at work, doesn't precisely mean, that you have to swallow all the sh*t that a moron wants to throw you.
I don't pursuit happiness at work. I just want to work in a place where I am respected and get a good wage. I already have my happiness with my family and friends.

Today we're happy to announce a new experience on docs.microsoft.com - a unified, company-wide code samples browser. One-stop shopping for all Microsoft dev samples, until they move it again
Ignore all the previous one-stop shopping sites they've had over the years. This time, they really mean it!

Windows Phone might have survived if Microsoft hadn't make these mistakes, says a former Nokia engineer. Android and iPhone? (and Microsoft management)
Maybe if they were in the market 20 years earlier than them, instead of only 10? (OK, seven according to Wikipedia)

Claiming to be either of those was all the rage, at the time.

Companies that embed Facebook’s “Like” button on their websites must seek users’ consent to transfer their personal data to the U.S. social network, in line with the bloc’s data privacy laws, Europe’s top court said on Monday. They no like

|
|
|
|
Reuters, who are obviously very concerned about data privacy, say: By clicking Accept [the only button available], you agree to our use of cookies for the purposes listed in our Cookie Consent Tool. ... And then do not provide a way of accessing their "Cookie Consent Tool".
"Physician, heal thyself"?
"Let he who is without sin?"
The European ruling is bang on, and a damned good step toward depowering the ridiculously over-powered fb.
However, Reuter's interpretation of how they themselves should obey the law is (as it all-too-often is) mind-blowingly wrong.
Their support will be a great plus for opposers of the law.

About a week ago, Linus Torvalds made a software commit that contains a few patches to the driver for native floppy disc controllers. What makes it worthy of note is that he remarks that the floppy driver is now orphaned. Now what are we going to use as a Save icon?
|
|
|
|
|
Linus should have waited until December, 22nd for the 50 year patent anniversary before submitting the commit.

You keep track of these patents?

Torvalds replied: Linux is about making computers work, not about icons. Talk to Nadella.

Microsoft has you covered - I heard there's going to be a variant of Clippy that looks like a marsupial, and has a floppy disk peeking out of a pouch.

An early draft of the document calls on governments, companies and citizens to make the web accessible to all. And it requires your feedback. "More what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules."
