MS Power User: For Microsoft, the US military is likely to be a key growth sector. I wonder why stories like this[^] don't get a lot of attention, and why all other "Big Tech" companies except ms are facing years of being hounded by the US government.
And I can't help but wonder if ms officials greet visiting army dignitaries with the saluto romano.

Google's little-known Auto Update Expiration D-Day leaves users bereft of auto software refreshes and more – here's how to check yours This laptop will self-destruct in 6.5 years
OK, not self-destruct, but "stop self-repairing". Nice bit of planned obsolescence there, Big G.

Does this mean it just stops getting updates to the underlying linux system, or that the Chrome browser also stops getting updated?
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

I would have thought just the Linux, but they do seem to imply Chrome as well.
Quote: However, end-to-end updates for all our devices to ensure the highest levels of security requires dependencies on many third-party hardware and software providers so we cannot indefinitely ensure that older Chrome devices will receive updates to enable new OS and browser features.

The .NET team is constantly thinking of new ways to make developers more productive. It ain't (only) about the icons
|
|
|
|
|
It's also about the colors. (And if we'd just listened and let the UPPERCASE titles last, we'd all be so productive, we'd only need to work one day a week. Or one hour on Monday for those already on the one day a week schedule.)

I don't know what's worse:
Microsoft dictating what our experiences should be, OR
People throwing hissy-fits because of a change in the user interface that doesn't amount to a hill of beans in the long run.

But Microsoft probably will copy it before they cancel it, and do the dirty job for them... Of course, after changing all the icons, so it doesn't look the same
