If by NI you mean Negative-Intelligence (IOW it reduces one's intelligence to less than zero) then I agree.

I meant "no intelligence", but I'm very happy to update my definition to match your more appropriate one.

Jeff Bezos might be (much) wealthier than you, but he’s not smarter than you—at least, not when it comes to basic smartphone security. Don't accept calls from Saudi princes?

That entire article is based on a false premise. The malware was delivered through a WhatsApp message that didn't need to be opened, due to an exploit for WhatsApp, so the fault was with WhatsApp rather than Bezos. Of course, it could be argued that installing messaging services like WhatsApp on a phone was the mistake, but that didn't seem to be the point of the article.

Google announced that it was going to start charging law enforcement authorities for legal data disclosure requests, such as subpoenas and search warrants, related to its users. I guess they're always on the lookout for a nice profitable revenue stream

Good luck trying to charge for meeting the requirements of a subpoena.

Why should the government get a free ride when they ask for something from the public or a company?
Federal, states, and other government bodies in the US are required to provide records as requested by the republic and that they may charge a reasonable fee for retrieval and redaction of these records.

More than 10 years on from its campaign to persuade users to dump Windows 7 for a non-proprietary alternative, the Free Software Foundation (FSF) has kicked off a petition to urge Microsoft to open-source the recently snuffed software. I'm sure they'll get right on that

I suggest FSF 'upcycle' their bank accounts as open source.

If we speak about their bank accounts I would prefer public domain rather than open source
