I wonder how long will take for this to get through the 47 nodes of multiple levels of managers, easily distracted R&D boffins, interdepartmental meetings, etc, before it gets implemented in computer hardware.
The Chinese will probably do it in six days.

A failed docking attempt, a dramatic reentry, and a first genuine fender-bender in orbit—what does it all have to do with modern web development? Always keep Bruce Willis' phone number handy?

Fire extinguishers make great portable rocket packs. And leave us not forget: If you make a bullet-sized hole in a spaceship's porthole, incredibly strong and nearly indestructible alien monsters can be sucked out through it by the one atmosphere of negative pressure.

But you will always be able to close it with a chewing gum, and be able to take out your helmet just after this, because the atmosphere will be restored in a couple of seconds

Are you considering a career path in software testing? Here’s what you need to know to get started. The scotch is in the bottom drawer of the cabinet

Google App Maker allowed IT developers and enthusiasts to build apps to improve business workflows with G Suite’s low-code development environment. Dead before anyone knew it was alive
I mean: I consider myself "fairly connected" to tech news, but I cannot remember ever hearing about this one. Maybe G's problem is that they just don't let enough people know about things (and assume their not-Ads will inform them)?

It's double news to me, too -- news that it exists, and news that it doesn't any more.
Needless to say, it has and will continue to make a huge difference to my lifestyle.

The emojis would be in addition to — not replacing — letters and numbers already assigned. That means law enforcement isn’t going to have any trouble with distinguishing between, for instance, crying and laugh-crying faces during a hot pursuit.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

As a recent escapee from Vermont I am not surprised.
Another bill submitted recently would jail teens for a year for the crime of using a cell phone.

Now as developers look at the costs of implementation:
- Validation scripts on the (motor vehicle dept) web portals to make sure you entered in a valid license plate number will now have to RegEx this crap.
- Police departments that use Automated License Plate Readers will need to have the OCR programming updated.
- The databases used will no longer be able to use ASCII text
So how long will this take and how much will this cost? And what about the neighboring states who undoubtedly will need to be upgraded as well?
And to think that most states don't have the letters I, O, and Q in their character sets as they may cause confusion.

Officials from the Department of Justice will reportedly be meeting this week with representatives of a 50-state coalition of state attorneys general to discuss tag-teaming their efforts to determine if Google's parent company, Alphabet, is in violation of antitrust laws. "Go to Jail. Go directly to Jail. Do not pass GO, do not collect $200. "
Maybe they can combine it with the EU investigation? Is there an Asia-wide investigation yet? Maybe even get the Antarctica monopoly investigation team on-board?

I know it all sounds stupid, but they are running rampant over the law and the rights of individuals, and setting an all-time low for business ethics.
There will be miss-steps, there will blockages caused by be corruption, but, sooner or later, the law will catch up.

The Mac and Windows version of Avast antivirus has been used to harvest user data, an investigation claims, with some sensitive info sold to third parties, including Google, Microsoft, and Intuit. "You must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not."
