Google is adding a new feature to search today that will let you know when it thinks the search results it’s offering aren’t that good. Just in case the "0 results returned" wasn't a good enough clue

That's a clever way to get a reload, for more ads. I anticipate a lot more useless results...

Ah, clever (and very evil). I never did think of that, but I suspect you might be right.

I hope they never screw with the verbatim search option. I install the Verbatim Search tool on all my Chromium broswers as a default, and very seldom use non-verbatim because the results are so bad that way!

Microsoft has shut down a feature in its Bing search engine that shows popular articles from major websites after Ars Technica reported that the feature was showing wildly inappropriate results from the stock photo site Shutterstock. Boing
and a great comment on the article:
"Not only inappropriate results, but incorrect as well. That is not a 'big tit' but a great tit (Parus major)."

Python 2.7.18 is the last Python 2.7 release and therefore the last Python 2 release. It's time for the CPython community to say a fond but firm farewell to Python 2. Wait? They're stopping Python 2? Why did no one tell me?

They are telling you right now

To be an issue the goal should have been to make it private or secure in the first case...

Didn't Elizabeth Holmes start with that sort of idea before she launched the infamous Theranos?
The idea was an implant that could detect pathogens and simultaneously inject the drugs required to kill the pathogen - which apparently was more sophisticated than anything that even Star Trek had.
Mind you I think she did get valued at $9 billion before the whole Theranos debacle fell apart as an alleged scam.

Quote: In just two days, a team of seven hackers found a ton of vulnerabilities, which if exploited in the real world could have crippled a critical aircraft data system, causing untold and potentially catastrophic damage.
It was also proof that the Air Force desperately needed help. 7 people in 2 days Quote: “We absolutely need help,” said Roper. First step is to recognize it.
