last time I saw that was 1996. Interesting how much "old" code is still around and needing support.

If by "support" you mean "active development" then yes

I worked for a company that did. They were starting to connect to the db using .net with an ec2 connection to replace the old green screen with a new website. It's been YEARS but I'm not sure they've completely gotten rid of it. They had about a half dozen rpg programmers at the time so it's not completely a dead language.

IBM persuaded some community college in the US to teach the RPG language by donating an AS/400.
For the life of me, I canβt recall the name or location of the college. I left the field 20 years ago.
I am sure they would have taught RPG IV.
RPG II was a bear that, even those who knew the language, didnβt want to mess with if it came to modifying the programs.

This is my current render of the final test document for my initial round of tests. It's got many complicated overlapping, semi-transparent gradients all xlink:href'd together.
It's not quite as fast as I'd like, because I traded away speed to dramatically reduce memory usage and increase flexibility, but it should be fast enough for small renders, which is what it's primarily meant for.
I still have more to do but it's basically just mop up at this point, with the largest task being to implement some baseline CSS support (selectors for classes and ids only so I don't need a DOM)
I'm thrilled.
