Since I just ran across yet another person who's technically brilliant (in other areas) but doesn't understand what a closure is in JavaScript... And it probably doesn't help that most of the JS articles give lousy explanations (because they don't know it themselves most likely). In plain English, a closure is not just a function inside a function. That's a nested function.
A closure retains its lexical state (variables) after the parent function has exited. Now, technically you can create a closures and never leverage this, in which case it'll just look like a function in a function. Which is where I assume why some think that's what a closure is. But, putting a function in a function in another language is not a closure unless there is retention.
Exhibit A:
function bro() {
let dude = 'Howdy Partner';
return function bruh() {
console.info(dude);
}();
}
bro().bruh;
I'm convinced the only reason JS is considered hard is the sheer amount of FUD out there by peeps who don't study it and use terms from it to sound cool. So, you're welcome.

We evacuated from Tampa to Georgia on Monday, to get out of the way of the hurricane. We were planning to return home tomorrow, but had to extend our stay by another day, to return on Saturday. Our home is totally undamaged according to our daughter who stayed in Tampa, but there is no power, our street is clogged with broken trees. No traffic lights work, and cell phone service is getting spotty. I suppose cell phone tower batteries also have a limited life. There is no gasoline. Gasoline pumps have no power.
I am very grateful that we have a governer who is very good at managing crisis situations.
Ok, I have had my coffee, so you can all come out now!

Yes we do have a great governor, he's always prepared.
Hope everything gets back to ?somewhat? normal soon.
We here in N.FL. made out well, but we're still recovering from Helene.

Indeed. Hope all is well at your home. I am down South, we dodged the bullet.
Gotta feel for the folks up there who got the double whammy.

This morning I turn on my computer and notice two changes to Outlook.
1) it always opens on my main screen rather than the left hand one where I left it. It's bad enough that it never comes up the place and size I left it, but at leave keep on the same monitor like it did yesterday!
2) The view has changed to Grouped, with a multiline summary and the preview pane is back. The Groups I can fix, the preview pane I can get rid of. But the waste of space that is a multiple line summary per email is just buried. Deep. And really obvious.*
Microsoft? Just stop assuming that what you like will be what everyone has to have. We set options so we can get at what we want, not what you want - so don't f**k with our settings!
* If you need it, it's under "View"..."Arrange By"..."View Settings"..."Other Settings"...Uncheck "Use compact layout in widths smaller than"...Check "Always use single-line Layout"
What the heck that has to do with sorting things, I have no idea ...

Old or new Outlook?
My current gripe with "new" Outlook: it's started opening TWO copies of every link I click on. The only workaround is to right-click and choose "open link", which opens just one copy as expected.
I suspect if they ever acknowledge the problem, their "solution" will be to change the link handling to always use Edge instead of the system-default browser.
