Land: cheetah
air: falcon
ocean: sailfish
If I remember right, the falcon is the fastest when flying and goes even faster when diving, and the cheetah and the sailfish can move at about the same speed, but the sailfish can only do it in short bursts.
The cheetah can outrun most major performance race cars in the short haul, with a 0 to 60 in under 3 seconds...

Is 24-carat gold pure gold?

Although in the world of measurements, 24 karat gold is supposed to be 100% pure gold, since each "karat" is 1/24th of the weight of the item in gold, 24 karat gold is only presumed to be in reality 99.999% (plus or minus a few 9's at the end) pure gold.
Absolute true pure gold is usually measured as "elemental gold" and given a false 25 karat designation to indicate that it has absolute zero impurities. This really only exists in laboratory conditions, or in samples preserved in liquid suspension.

Vlad the Impailer

It was inspired by one of the best-known figures of the Romanian history — Vlad Dracula, nicknamed Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler) — who was a ruler of Wallachia (1456-1462).

Believe it or not...
Jesus Christ
It is a twisting of the Christian legend done by the Romans to keep Christianity in check. At the time (a) they were considered a cult, (b) they gathered in graveyards (the abandoned underground catacombs), (c) they drank blood and ate flesh (the holy sacrements - drinking the blood of Christ [wine] and the Flesh of Christ [bread or similar]), (d) what would you do if you had been nailed to a cross and hung out to dry all day long when you see a cross after that? I think you would cringe... (e) Jesus Christ rose from the dead - undead and immortal, (f) cant cross running water - Jesus is always depected as parting water and then walking across dry land OR walking across the top of water OR being tossed about in a violent storm
and so on and so forth...

Um, Dracula was written based off of the legend called Vampyre, done by John Polidori during Mary Shelley's summary write-athon during the early part of the 1800s. John Polidori used one of Mary Shelley's most numerous books in the mansion to produce Vampyre, the Holy Bible. The main character in Vampyre was modeled after Lord Byron, the first person to ever put Vampires into poems.
Vlad the Impaler on the other hand was known for literally making the streets run red with blood from his favorite method of execution - impaling people (hence the Tepes or Impaler part). His surname just happens to be Dracul (translated as Dracula for us English speaking people).
Although it would be nice if the two bloodiest rulers of the time (Vlad Tepes and Elizabeth Bathory) had been the subject of the vampire mythos, those legends never arose in those regions until the 1700s, several hundred years after their deaths.
If you doubt me, read Bram Stoker's own working notes on how he came about the characters and story for Dracula... And if you doubt those printings, go visit the museum in Pennsylvania that has his original notes for display for you to read for yourself...
Anyways - it helps to know your authors...
