In the HTML code that defines your frame page assign a name to each frame, like
<frame name="frame3" .....>
Then in the HTML code that defines your links, add a target to the name of the 3rd frame like:
<a href="http://www.mysite.com/somepage.htm" target="frame3">Click Here to go to Some Page</a>

I am writing a windows service app to monitor for files that change. If I determine a file has changed I want to start another application that runs independent of the service app. Currently I have tried to use the Process.Start. When the newly started application encountered an error (that displays a message box) the error message ”It is invalid to show a modal dialog or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application” was returned. I only want the service app to be responsible for starting the new application.
How can I kick off the new application with no ties back to the service app?

You have to go into the Service Control Manager and get the properties on your service. In there, under the Log On tab, make sure that "Allow service to interact with desktop" is turned on. If it's not, then your application doesn't run under the same desktop that the user sees. It'll run under a hidden desktop with no user interface. This is why your getting this error.

I understand why am getting the error. I don't want my service to interact with the desktop. How can my service start a new application so that the new application can interact with the desktop not my service?
Thanks!

You have a choice: Either enable the service to interact with the desktop or don't launch applications that require a user interface.
Think of it this way: The service has to have "interact" enabled to launch an application on the desktop. If this is not enabled, the applications that the service launches inherit the security context of the local SYSTEM account, which is running under an invisible desktop with no UI. If you enable the service to interact with the desktop, any applications launched by the service will inherit the security context of the User that's logged in on the visible desktop and, hence, your launched app will be visible.

If i do a response.redirect, The word doc is opening in the borwser but i am not getting the tool bars.
I need the user to make changes to the document and click save to save it back to the server.
if the do like this
Dim word_server = New Word.Application
word_server.ChangeFileOpenDirectory("c:\aa\")
word_server.Documents.Open( _
FileName:="t.doc", _
ConfirmConversions:=False, _
ReadOnly:=False, _
AddToRecentFiles:=False, _
PasswordDocument:="", _
PasswordTemplate:="", _
Revert:=False, _
WritePasswordDocument:="", _
WritePasswordTemplate:="", _
Format:=Word.WdOpenFormat.wdOpenFormatAuto)

Keep in mind that a webform is really just a template for ASP.NET to generate client side HTML. ASP.NET ONLY GENERATES HTML ON THE SERVER SIDE! It doesn't execute any VB.NET code client side.
Now, the code you supplied in your post is executing on the server, not the client. Your code just hangs because it opened the document on the server and since the web server doesn't have a desktop and UI, it just hangs.
Word can open files from an HTTP address, but by default, the users don't have Write permissions to the server. It's not a matter of coding this, but just giving the proper permissions to the ASPNET user account and making sure that IIS is properly configured to allow client to write to the folder where the website is stored.
But, keep in mind, you'll run into concurrency issues if two or more people decide to open the same document at the same time. Ye who saves last overwrites everything everyone else has done.

Hi,
I have listed a code with a suitable example for 'Panel Control'
Creating Repeated Controls :
----------------------------
1.Place a PANEL Control Class , Two BUTTON and Two LABEL on Form.
2.Set the AUTOSCROLL property of PANNEL is TRUE.
3.Write the following code within a FORM as follows…
'--- BEGINS
Dim txt As TextBox
Private Sub Button2_Click(…) Handles Button2.Click
Dim a, y As Integer
y = 10
Panel1.Controls.Clear()
For a = 1 To CInt(TextBox1.Text)
txt = New TextBox()
Dim Lbl As New Label()
Txt.Location = New Point(20, y)
Lbl.Location = New Point(2, y + 3)
Txt.Width = 75
Lbl.Width = 25
AddHandler txt.Enter, AddressOf CursorGotFocus
Panel1.Controls.Add(Txt)
Panel1.Controls.Add(Lbl)
txt.Tag = a
Lbl.Text = a
y += Txt.Height + 5
Next
End Sub
Private Sub CursorGotFocus(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Dim C As Control = sender
Label2.Text = "Cursor On " & C.Tag & " TextBox....! "
End Sub
Private Sub Button1_Click(…) Handles Button1.Click
Dim T As Control
Dim Result As String
For Each T In Panel1.Controls
If TypeOf T Is TextBox Then
Result &= T.Tag & "." & T.Text & vbCrLf
End If
Next
MsgBox(Result, MsgBoxStyle.Information, "")
End Sub
4.Run the above code and Enter TEXTBOX that How many TEXTBOXES to be Created .
5.Press the Browser BUTTON (…).
6.Enter the Data into Created TextBoxes within the Panel.
7.Press the Button Labeled Show, The Given data are displayed on MessageBox.
8.In Label which was placed under the Button Show, Displays that current cursor location. ('Enter Event raised).
9.In .NET , ENTER Event worked as GOTFOCUS Event on Classic VB.

Sounds like your trying to get around a copy protection scheme. You're not going to get any help with that.

Hi All,
Is there a way to add (or map) directly from dataset to combobox? I tried to use ComboBox.DataSource = ADataSet , but it doesn't seem to work. The reason that i'm using dataset to map direct to combobox because the data in the database is huge. It's about 20,000 records; and I don't want to use for loop or while loop to loop through and add one by one. If anyone know a way to do it, please help me.
Thank you for helping.
John
