does the .NET framework come with ANY os???
I'm pretty sure that the .Net Framework comes with Windows XP. However, I think it is only the 1.0 version and not the 1.1 version that Visual Studio .Net 2003 uses.
However, I haven't checked this until recently, and I have installed many updates since my "fresh" install of XP. I may be wrong.
I hope this helps

Unless they quitely made part of XP in more recently shipping boxes, the .NET Framework doesn't come with XP.

Well, you've described exactly what you need to do - how/why is it not working ?

Using an Access 2000 database, one field is Time, the data type is Date/Time, and the format is Short Time (24 hour clock)
Using VB.NET, in the dataset, the Time field shows "12/30/1899" for every record. There is also a Date field and that comes through fine.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

DateTime in Access is stored as a double (DBTYPE_DATE) with the whole number portion representing the number of days since 12/30/1899. If you're only storing the time, the whole number portion will always be zero. After the value is converted to System.DateTime , you can get a TimeSpan representing the time of day from the TimeOfDay property.
In a DataGrid , you can apply a DataGridTableStyle with a DataGridTextBoxColumn with the Format property set to "t" or "T" to display only the time portion.

Hi!
I´m using a CheckedListBox component and I´m having problems with the SetItemChecked method at form load.
Debugging I can see that: SetItemChecked (n, True) executes but then when the form is shown the items that were checked appear as unchecked.
What´s more surprising is that if you execute SetItemChecked (for example as a result of a button click interaction) the items that are activated are shown correctly.
I have used refresh,update... and got no result!
Is that a bug of Microsoft Visual Studio?
Thank you for your replies

How to change a jpeg file to a bmp file?
Thanks!
|
|
|
|
|
<br />
Dim bmp As New Bitmap("C:\pic1.jpg")<br />
<br />
bmp.Save("C:\pic2.bmp")<br />
|
|
|
|

The New .bmp file is created.
However, the format is not bitmap , and the size is almost same as the jpeg file.

Try:

bitmap.Save("bla.bmp", System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Bmp);<br />

i have to use number bulleting in a rich text box. i see there is no support for that.

Yeah, but couldn't you write the code to add the number bulleting to the text yourself?

My Application Devoloped in VB.Net and Sql Server(Win Forms). Now the Client Ready to Use the App. He has International Branch offices. So he wants to use Windows Terminal Server. It is Nearly 2000 Users Working at the Same Time. Application Installed in the Server Only. How Can i get the Application Performance. Can i get the Performance instead of this. Please Give me Solution about this.

What do you mean, 'How can I get the application performance' ? Do you want to know how the app performs ? Write some stress tests and time them. There are code coverage tools in C++ and C#, and I presume VB.NET that will allow you to identify bottlenecks.
In future, if you want a faster app, write it in C#, or better yet, C++.

I have a HTML Document, which is always divided by 3 horizontal frames. In the botttom-most frame there is a number of links, Fx, links to Gif images, Txt documents, zip files etc. The number of links varies.
Now whenever a link in the 3rd frame is clicked in the web control, i want to open the file with the default associated program. This means, this must not happen in frame number 1 or 2, only in frame 3. I guess i have to use the event beforenavigate2, but how do i make sure the only links openable is in the 3rd frame ?
Can anyone help me?
Regards.

In the HTML code that defines your frame page assign a name to each frame, like
<frame name="frame3" .....>
Then in the HTML code that defines your links, add a target to the name of the 3rd frame like:
<a href="http://www.mysite.com/somepage.htm" target="frame3">Click Here to go to Some Page</a>

I am writing a windows service app to monitor for files that change. If I determine a file has changed I want to start another application that runs independent of the service app. Currently I have tried to use the Process.Start. When the newly started application encountered an error (that displays a message box) the error message ”It is invalid to show a modal dialog or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application” was returned. I only want the service app to be responsible for starting the new application.
How can I kick off the new application with no ties back to the service app?
|
|
|
|
|
You have to go into the Service Control Manager and get the properties on your service. In there, under the Log On tab, make sure that "Allow service to interact with desktop" is turned on. If it's not, then your application doesn't run under the same desktop that the user sees. It'll run under a hidden desktop with no user interface. This is why your getting this error.
