And now should create somekind of addressbook...
I made some databases for it...
And now should get databases on grid...
But when I try to add "Microsoft FlexGrid..."
It gives some error about "...it requires design-license"

I'm looking for a few good web sites or books to teach me Straight C. Also I'm looking for a C compiler. I know VC++ can compile C with the /Za option, and Dev-C++ can too, but they all see to be missing headers like <sys/sockets.h> and functions like getwd in <unistd.h>.

What do you mean by "Straight C?" Perhaps this book or this Web site would be helpful.

Hi don't know is here proper place for this kinde of question.But any
help please.I want to write in cell of excel file this string "000001"
exactly as shown with all precided zeros, but when i use method
Excel::Range::PutValue(VARIANT val) - one automatically reduced prefixes zeros
and finaly i had in cell only "1".How can i avoid this.
Help please.

Hello,
I am looking for a table grid component which would be able to handle large amount of data (hundred of thousands of rows) fast (sorting, traversing) and also would support cell resizing and painting individual cells and selected rows with custom colours and also image displaying in cells would be great.
Can anyone help me?

two I know :
either MFC Grid ( from CP's Chris Maunder ) [^] which is free, but I haven't used it extensivly.
or Dundas's Ultimage Grid[^] which is not free, but comes with the source code.
in both cases, they allow custom cells and for large data, offer a virtual mode that let you store ( or keep ) your data external to the grid, thus allowing very large dataset without having the grid itself grow in memory size.
to paint individual cells, and display images, ... you will need to define your custom cells; and I think it's quite easy.

I don't know about Dundas's Ultimate Grid, but I've tested MFC Grid. If I use not the virtual mode, only creation of a grid with 200 000 rows take a long time. Or maibe there is a way to avoid such a big delay?
Is Ultimate Grid able to work fast on a large data without virtual mode?

Hi,
I've created an extension dll to export a class. The class
contains some member functions that take a CString argument or return a CString. The class looks like this:
class AFX_EXT_CLASS FuncObject
{
public:
CString GetFuncValue() const;
int LoadExecutable(const CString& fileName);
private:
};
In the application that uses the dll I have an object of type FuncObject where I call the member function LoadExecutable(). When I try to compile the application I get the linker error 'error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol CString FuncOject::LoadExecutable(...)'. This only happens to member functions that use CStrings. If I use char* instead of CString the problem goes away. Can someone explain this ?

Just curious, your LoadExecutable() as per FuncObject.h returns int, where as the link error says it cannot find LoadExecutable(...) which is returning a CString !

Hi all,
can anybody tell me how can I pain only a selected area(or region) from a bitmap?
what i mean is that:
1- I have a bitmap picture in a CBitmap
2- I do not want to draw the whole bitmap
3- I want to choose an area like an ellipse or a complex region to draw
4- I want to pick-up those pixels in the bitmap and draw them on a window DC
Any Ideas are welcome

Hi,
Im working with the AVI Files for a project which records real time video and audio. I was wondering if there is something that could help me to determine the health of Mic and Camera, without actually looking at the Video or listening to the Audio.
(May be I can parse through the AVI file for header chunks or Data chunks, but I am not sure about what I should be looking for )

I have an unmanaged C++ application and want to use managed C# forms. Converting the code to managed code and rewriting in C# are not options. Somehow I think that the CComPtr is a key but am not sure how to use it. Can anyone help?

I guess you can make a COM wrapper for your C# forms and then use them from unmanaged C++.
