One more thing that you can do is creating home folder[^]. But before you do that, I recommend you to know about creating roaming user profile[^].

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a software that will show me which files on the server the users are accessing.
Thanks!

You already have it. Go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management. Expand Shared Folders, then Open Files. From here you can see which files are being accessed.

If you want to find only the current open file, Mike suggestion is the right answer. But if you want to know about the history of accessing the file from the user, you have know about configure auditing policies[^] and configuring and monitoring auditing article[^].

Try this.
Remove the device from device manager.
Remove the device from the PC.
Restart the PC.
Put the Card back in the PC.
Have you added any new hardware?

This method is not working, because the driver still remain on the hard drive. When you plug it again it will install the driver automatically.

Well, I've quite successfully run MicroCAD and Qedit in Win95, so it's not impossible. And MicroCAD's a pre-DPMI app, dating to the MS-DOS 3.3 days, so the latitude is quite wide.
I would say though, that the later, DPMI-aware stuff will run more successfully. (I don't claim to know anything about the AutoCAD memory manager, or any of the other memory managers and protected mode DOS extenders that came out around the late eighties and early nineties. My guess is that they don't break Win9x's DOSbox virtualization - reputedly one of Microsoft's hidden gems.)
Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the matter could enlighten us?

MS went to great lengths to make the Win9x operating systems support as many DOS-based applications as possible. There was tremendous resistance to change (so what's new?) and they wanted wide, rapid acceptance of the new Windows. They did not maintain that compatibility priority with the WinNT/2K/XP series, but WinXP does have a compatibility mode that works well for some apps. If you had a DOS application that was happy running on Win98, XP can provide a sandbox for it to play happily in.
The Win9X systems were DOS-based, with a 32-bit shell running on top, so a lot of DOS apps worked great. Those which failed most often were the ones which relied upon direct control of low-level hardware interfaces. The answer, I guess, is "it depends..."

Hi, we're about to perform server hardening and our security officier asked that we remove the following Application Mapping configured in MMC>IIS>Default Web Site (right click properties)>Home Directory tab>Configuration button:
1. cdx
2. cer
3. htr
4. idc
5. printer
6. shtm
7. shtml
8. stm
Our application server hosts ASP.NET apps, so, I presume if we can safely remove mapping not in this list {asp,aspx,ascx,html,htm...etc}??
Thanks in advance!

Hi Guys,
I hope this is the correct board for this question.
I have a Flash Disk (Mobile III) when I inserted it on the DELL P4 USB port I was able to read/write files, I even inserted it in my IBM PC in our office and it works fine (both are desktop). Both are WIN XP O.S.
The question is when I insert in in my FUJITSU LAPTOP (P4) with Win XP OS it reboot my machine, Do you have any idea which updates will I need to run in order to read my FLASH disk?

you must use Microsoft USB Driver Version 5.1.2600.0 or greater. you can get it from from windows update.
By the way, there is a Faq listing about that problem on fujitsu's web site.
It applies to the C2210,P2120 and S6110 LB's
You may want to check that the bios is up to date also (you will have to email them).
