Depending on which arguement that you are trying to use, you can set the command line parameter in the Project | settings menu option.
You can either select the different tabs in order to get a form to customize the command line, or you can directly edit the command line arguements in the edit box at the bottom of most of the tabs.

Hi
I'm using CFileFind::GetLength() to get the size of a file. I'm storing the results to a double. The number returned is over 124000 bytes, the actual file size is about 10k. Am I doing something incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated.

I tried that and it still returns the length of the file as 1241156 instead of 151387. The code looks something like this:
CFileFind Finder;
Finder.FindFile(Filename);
Finder.FindNextFile();
double size=Finder.GetLength();

First verify that FindFile returns non-zero.
non-zero indicates success.
If FindFile() fails then FindNextFile will not work properly. Naturally GetLength() will also return abnormal values.
So chk and see if FindFile returns a non-zero value.

FindFile returns successful, but FindNextFile() will fail since I've given it the exact file to find.

I would like to implement some form of IPC, however I can't decide which approach to take..?
I am considering ReadProcessMemory etc...But wouldn't this be more work than nessecary...?
Could the same, but easier be accomplished with file mapping...?
It's to my understanding that ReadProcessmemory would only be required if the differeing applications didn't (at design) have the need to communicate. ReadProcessMem... could then be used to read memory into the desired process and acted on accordingly.
How much work would it be to implement File mapping for both sides, compared to ReadProcessMemory...?
Any suggestions...? ReadProcess could cause page faults huh...if used incorrectly..

Look at shared sections. This will allow 2 or more processes to access this IPC section.

I have a form view (inside Leo Moll's Property Sheet View) with controls in it. When I resize the window I get screen flicker in a major way.
Since I do not draw the controls, I can overwrite the OnDraw function. Where should I add my double buffering? Or is there another way?

Set the dialog control to clipchildren. Then when it paints, it will not erase the controls.
Also, if a control is flickering that doesn't have children and you will always repaint the control fully, then disable WM_ERASEBKGRD.

I am using Microsoft Vision SDK. I need to be able to open multiple bitmaps at onces, work on all of them and store the results as a txt file. Any ideas on how to cycle through all of the bitmaps opened and have a txt open/save dialog in addition to the bitmap one?

I've viewed the related articles on CP about CPU Useage and have only concluded that ntQueryPerfomanceCounter..?(i think) Is the only way to return CPU useage.
I don't suppose this works(or there exists a workaround) for WIN98...???

As far as I know, QueryPerfomanceCounter is the only way to obtain current CPU usage and according to the docs, it is compatable with W95 and W98. I believe there are few libraries around here that encapulate it. WFC is one.

Funny cuz I was just on CodeGuru and read a message thread with your name in it. I'll assume it was you, because the disscussion "CPU Usage".
Actually what i really wanted was CPU usage of each process.
I'm already using the RDTSC to perform code profiling and was curious if there was a way to return process usage (proportional to rest of system) as well. Turns out (so far anyway) that this would require a whole lot more work then i'm ready to put forth.
I'm assuming you'd have to count the clocks of each process at each task switch...?
In anycase, to much homework for me right now...

I just thought it ironic that while lookin for info on process usage that an thread on CodeGuru had Rick York, then 5 secs later when I checked for messages...lo and behold theres your name.
I'll try and locate the thread but i can't make any promises. I found it originally through a google, so ican't exactly retrace my foot steps...

That is odd !
I did a search at Google myself and found some odd things. FWIW, codeguru does still have all my articles but they don't seem to be linked to any more. Also, I am from Oregon and the Perry Mason's cases page is mine.
I did find one VERY annoying thing - some asian site has one of my articles posted with their copyright. I would let them know what I think about this but I couldn't find a place to do it.
