Hi, I have written a program that saves graph data to files. I would now like to double-click on these files to start my program and open the file up. (rather than starting the program and selecting file-open)
How do I pass the double-clicked file name to the program???
Thanks

Use a unique extension and associate your program with that extension, via the registry.
I have already done that. The program starts but I dont know how to get the file name that started the program. I need this to then display the file.

The command string should be something like :-
%SystemRoot%\system32\NOTEPAD.EXE %1
Now you get your filename as the command line argument

If you use VC7,in the third step fill "file extenstion" text box.
If you use VC6,I think in the third step you have to click "advance" button, and there you can fill that box.

I am looking for a relational database with inexpensive licensing fees.
I only need the most basic of functions, such as Select, Update and Create table.
MS Access has far more power than I need and is rather expensive to pay the license fees.
Are you aware of anything less expensive?
thank you

This is a great solution, you not only helped us but we are happy to pay the shareware license.
thank you very much

Or MSDE, which is also free, and can be upscaled to MS SQL when needed.

I'm kindda confused about the licensing (the Mozilla thingy) - can sqlite be used for commercial applications without paying a fee or what?

I am having some problems with my CHtmlView getting the OnChar() callbacks. Everything works fine *until* I click in the body of the Window (not the titleBar or frame). Once I do this, no OnChar's every get sent to the view. I'm assuming the the Browser Control has grabbed input, but how do I get it to release it. I have tried setting the focus to other windows with no results. The CHtmlView window does lose focus when you click on other windows like it should, but the OnChar's never get called again. This is also true for the mouse button virtual functions as well. No Input.

Is there any way to rebuild the classwizard conf. file for my project? Or perhaps a utility to do this for me? I have a few imported classes with all the classwizard comments and insert locations intact. I would modify the file manually, but i'm too lazy.

Delete it, hit CTRL-W and it will be rebuilt for you.

so it may be a good idea not to delete, but just rename it, so you aren't out of luck in case the rebuilding doesn't take place.
i had problems with the classwizzard when visual studio crashed and i restarted the same project without restarting the computer. so may be this is the "sometimes"

for some reason, when i access classwizard, wizardbar, or classview menu items, VC++ seems to stall for about 2 seconds and then delete some of the files... this is obviously terrible, especially when not all my projects are on SourceSafe (VSS gets annoying and is useless for small projects)
so basically, how do i fix this? i called Tech.Supp. but they said they "couldn't reproduce the problem", meaning they're not smart enough to fix it.
anyway, im using Win2K w/ VC++ 6.0, service pack 5 or whatever the latest one is
thanks

There was an issue like that with the classwizard deleting files.. but is supossed to be fixed in one of the service pack's.
Make sure you have que lastest one.

Is is possible to use a CRichEditCtrl without placing it on a dialog. I see that the create method takes some parameters that must be non-null, but all I want is the CRichEditCtrl's printing functionality. I have an RTF file to be printed, but don't know of a better way than this. Can anyone make some suggestions here?
Thanks.
