Karanba,
A scoped variable within a function or like automatically gets identified for garbage collection by the runtime when the function body ends.
Of course for variables defined globally, the Page_Unload should dictate the lifetime of the same.
For Html and ActiveX Objects, of course, nulling would make a better deal.
Did this attend to your query?

OracleDataAdapter class takes care of opening and close db connection automatically. If I'm using ref cursors to populate the OracleDataAdapter does it take care of closing the cursors.

How can I catch events from an ActiveX control in a web page?
I've tried using VBScrip, and I didn't succed.
If you could give some sample code it would be great.

Hi there,
Below is an example of creating an event handler for the PlayStateChange event of the Windows Media Player ActiveX control:
<OBJECT height="43.22%" width="34.8%" id="objWMP" classid="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" VIEWASTEXT>
</OBJECT>
<script type="text/vbscript">
Sub objWMP_PlayStateChange(state)
alert(state)
End Sub
</script> The name of the event handler should be in the format: objectid_eventname
For JScript, the sample code looks something like:
<script type="text/Jscript" event="PlayStateChange(state)" for="objWMP">
alert(state);
</script>

Brendan,
You can enumerate other charaters in the current regular expression, for example:
^[a-zA-Z0-9êë]+$
You can quickly get the expression to check if the URL is valid from VS:

else <br />
response.write "" <br />
end if <br />
<br />
strs2 = split(sometext,",") <br />
if ubound(strs2) >= 1 then <br />
two = strs2(1) <br />

As usual, storing more than one value in a field is rarely a good idea.
As you don't know at what position in the array any of the strings will end up, you have to loop through the array to look for the strings.

Hi all,
Can anybody tell me what is RSS? How shall we use in our own website development?
Thanks in Advance for all your response...

really simple syndication[^]
You might use it, for example, to notify your viewers that something on your site has been updated.

Ya Ofcourse.
But how shall we use it in our website...
Shall we use this for our own news site? will it be efficient?
Do we have to create new dynamic page everytime we update RSS?
Please clear my doubts,
Thanks in Advance,
Jaya

Hi,
Quick question. I ran Visual Studio 2005 BETA for a while and found the webpartz function where you can create a site like MSN. Is there a way to create my own web partz as I am back on .NET 2003 and this version does'nt have this function.
Thank you
