I want to develop a page which will search the pages of my web site throgh meta tag. i cannot understand how i get data from meta tag into my apllication that is asp/vbscript.
please help me

Use FileSystemObject to iterate and open the files. Use a regular expression to easily extract the contents of the meta tag from the source.

(I assume that the meta tags are not dynamically created, in that case you would have to use the xmlhttp component the request the pages from the server.)

Hey all, Probably a easy question, but doing my head in. Is there a function that serves the same purpose javascript document.write but in c# so i can use it in the code behind class? or is there a way to use the document.write in the codebeinf class.

Thanks for the quick response Christian,

response.write will work, but the problem is that it writes it to the aspx page where i need to write the html to the a usercontrol which sit within a aspx page. Any idea how i can achieve this? basically i want to add html dynamicaly to the user control and not the aspx page.

Create a label control, and write the HTML to that.

Hello, all,
In my current project, I need to display a control at the upper-right corner of the browser window. But when the vertical scrollbar is showing up in Netscape, that control will be displayed over the scrollbar, which is not desirable.
I'd like to know whether there is a way to detect whether the vertical scrollbar is showing up or not, so that I can move the control a little bit when scrollbar is displayed.

I searched all day online and tried all kinds of method to do it, but none of them works. I am using javascript in the current project.

Please help?

Let me explain the senario. I have 2 Dropdownlists. The first one has entries from SQL like Fruit and Vegetables. The second has the sub catagories like Apples Pears and under vegetables we have cabage and carrots.

What I would like to know is if I select Fruit in the first DropdownList, the second should be populated with all the fruit and visa versa?

Hi all!
I store my picture in Access 2003 by "OLE Object".
I am coding a ASP page for loading and display those pictures. But I am not know any way which display those pictures in my ASP page.
Please, give me a way. Thanks very much.

Create a page for fetching an image from the database, and use that page as you would an image file:

<img src="FetchImage.asp?id=42">

Use Response.BinaryWrite to output the image data that you fetch from the database.

but I get a error. This error is "The image http://localhost/BSGWebsite/myImageSource.asp?ImageID=3” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors."

I tested and saw The error is happened at "Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg"" line.

I using the "Mozilla FireFox" browser.

Browse to the page instead of showing it like an image, so that you see the error message on the page.

Basically, you need to embed the path of the AVI file and the default AVI Player in the client system would play it. Is'nt it?

I am a programmer, but now I am getting fed up with coding and would like to progress my career into other fields. So what should be the natural way forward for me. In which field should I move into???

Hi

I need some way of detecting a program is installed on a clients computer i can detect which browsers are open and if they have windows media player or quicktime ete but i need to detect just a program thats been installed for example if i had installed a program is there away to detect the folder as been put in the program files folder using javascript? hope ya'll can help

Nope. You can't access any files with javascript. Just imagine how easy it would be to plant a virus if you could.
