You'll have to ask UPS and DHL for support about this. You can start by clicking and reading this[^].

I'm not sure what you're trying to do but you can get at the sql datatypes using the System.Data.SqlDbType enumeration.

Hi,
I need to build a huge web application and I want to try and sort out my folder hierarchy. I want to group all related files in one folder. Currently I have started but not sure if it is right. There are many ways, I know, but I want to follow industry standards. Can someone please give me a basic guideline on file structures when creating an applicaion.
I have it like this so far:
root
App_Code
common (used for global variables)
components
BLL
DAL
App_Data
App_Themes
images
includes
stylesheets
javascript
I want to include alot of stuff, like email utilities, page settings, images, includes files (user controls) like headers and footer, exception, page errors, rich textbox editor, menus, etc. I like the way that DotNetNuke and Rainbow starter kits did it. I don't want to to through all my files in one directory, but have them neatly organised.
Please can you people advise!!
Regards,
ma se

Try asking in the web development forum rather than the C# one, more chance of you getting the answer you're after

Hi Folks,
I have requirement to print text and image. The text can be printed separately by calling Graphics.DrawString method and image can be printed by
Graphics.DrawImage. But I need to print them both in same command. The problem is when I call Graphics.DrawString first and Graphics.DrawImage later image overlaps text. Cann't I print image in next page in same event.
Any Solution to it.

hi,
I have a pdf editor software which opens pdf files in edit mode.
I am opening a pdf file through this software in my code.
The code is as follows:
Process.Start(Application.StartupPath.Substring(0, Application.StartupPath.ToString().IndexOf("Eviction")) + "PDF Editor 2\\PDFEdit.exe", "F:\\Covenant.pdf");
But, I want to pass some data to be displayed in the pdf file.
This software allows to insert some textboxes(with name given to each textbox) in the pdf file and save them.
So, when I open this pdf file through my code, I want some values to be displayed in these textboxes.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance.

Try contacting the people you got the editor from and see if they have a command line option for inserting the text you want, then you can call it from your Process.Start as above.

I have two arrays
name[]={a,b,c}
value[]={1,2,3}
My requirement is to define a class as
myclass/*myclass will contain members as specified by name[] array*/
{
string a;
string b;
string c:
}
at runtime
and to create an object of myclass ,say myobj
and set
myobj.a=1;
myobj.b=2;
myobj.c=3;
Point to note is that name[] and value[] array can be of any size and contain
any value.They are not hard coded.
I am at my wit's end to solve this problem.Please help.

You need C# 3.0, it would handle this, no trouble.
Why not use a dictionary to define variables like this ?

I have organized my files in such a way that I place them in different folders based on their category. My main problem now is using those files from other folders, how can I achieve this? Thanks very much

Just include them in your project, optionally creating the folder structure also.

I have read that we can use namespaces to package C# classes. Different Classes can then be recognized by any class which includes the namespace. I have a problem however, there are 2 files, let's name them file1.cs and file2.cs. Both of them use the namespace Project.
Location of file1 --> (these are folders)Project->Main->file1.cs
Location of file2 --> Project-->MenuForms-->Cells
file1 does not recognize file2 although they are named with the same namespace...How can I solve this problem?
Really Need help... thanks!

Are they built differently too? If project A needs to use code from project B and C, just go to references->add reference, and add the two .dll's from B and C. Even better, use build events to copy the .dll's into a directory in project A's folder, that way they're always there, no matter where you put project B or C.
|
|
|
|
|
If you created them in these folders, the default namespaces are not the same. Have you made sure that they are ? Have you tried explicitly scoping the namespace ? Are the classes in the two files both public ?

Hello,
I have a question I've been trying to answer and I just can't find anything. When I use an interop method, I know I must put it inside a NativeMethods class. I'm writing a little utility library for my company and I was wondering where should that NativeMethods class go: inside the class that uses it as a nested type, or only one globally for all classes that use any interop method in it?
By the way, can anyone explain to me what's the difference between SafeNativeMethods , UnsafeNativeMethods , and NativeMethods ? I just don't understand what MSDN says.

You can group nativemethods in different classes.
for example, process related methods in NativeProcessMethods, GDI related methods in NativeGDIMethods.
where to put these classes is a raltive issue dependent in your design.
But I prefer to put all native methods classes in a class library to use it in another porject in the future to avoid rewriting the code.
Hope this helps

Interesting comments, thanks!!
Yes, I think I'll move everything into a global class for easier reusability, with hopes that the library will grow.
