It would be nice to have columns for each articles' statistics such as Views and Rating in the table on the My Articles page. Then authors wouldn't have to visit each article one at a time to get these stats.

the "Visual C++" forum should be renamed to "MFC" ( or something similar ) since it's what it's mainly used for these days.
Create a real "C/C++" forum for standard C and C++ questions ( STL, templates, C++, ... )
Rename the "C++/CLI" to something more meaningfull in that context; maybe something like "C++.net"
I see a lot of people asking C++ .net windows form questions in the "Visual C++" forums, and see standard C++ questions in the "C++/CLI"

I think two forums is enough, although I agree that the names aren't clear.
The VC forum is really intended for all non-managed C++ topics, not just MFC and Win32, so maybe "Native C++" would work.
"C++/CLI" is probably too new a term for people to know what it is, "Managed C++/CLI" might be better (the forum used to be named "Managed C++" IIRC).

My first guess was that "CLI" stood for "command line interface" which seemed to indicate console program (non-gui) forum.

How about different gender icons for the sexes? On occassion, I forget whether the person I'm talking to is male or female and a gender icon would be a nice tip-off. Obviously, a neutral icon would be needed for those not wishing to divulge that information.

I don't like that idea - it brings in openings for gender discrimination!

Not if you add it in their personal profile. Most people mention their significant other or boy/girlfriend at one point in time and you can basically tell what their sex is. However, adding it as a profile option makes it easier for others to remember. I don't see it as a problem since most forums nowadays add it as a user option.
Considering what goes on in the soapbox, I don't think this can make any worse.

Great idea.
I nominate :arnold: for one gender and :jenna: for the other. That'll cover all the bases, I'm sure.

but does it really matter? How would your discussion be changed by knowing the gender of the person you are talking too?
