Hi, ive have been using an assembly in my project and have just tried to use a newer version of the assembly and i get this error.
Could not load file or assembly 'eBay.Service, Version=3.1.2090.38214, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=c7506f8c5fa78874' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
what is the best way to go about specifing that a new version of the assembly is in my project?

If you want to upgrade an assembly after building/deploying your project, you can add a binding redirect section to your application's config file. Look at the documentation for <assemblyBinding> and <bindingRedirect>, there are good examples.
Hope this helps,
Tim

Your company has developed a message board system that is being used by hundreds of web sites. The licensing model gives away the software for free but produces recurring revenue by charging ten cents per unique user that posts on the board. You have been tasked with developing a billing system that can determine in real-time the accounts-receivable per customer for all customers. Explain how your system works and why it’s a good solution for providing real-time information.

Class assignment? Job interview? Exam question?

I thought you answered Interview to the other posters question...
Soooo, you want us to answer an Interview question for you so you can get a job, for which you can't answer this question yourself. Soooo, if you can't answer this question, what makes you think you're qualified for the job?

Your subject line is useless - it should tell the reader something about the problem you are having. Many people skip posts like this because their time is scarce and they don't want to waste it on someone that can't even put a decent subject line.
Perhaps "message board system design problem" or "billing system design problem" or "I need someone to do my homework for me"

Here is the thing:
I reflect a class library assembly and instance a object without problems, but when I use a System.Configuration.AppSettingsReader object (to get the reflected module config), the readed config is the one of the Main app and not the one of the class library assembly.
Any idea on how to solve this?
I'm using .Net 2.0
Thanks

I solved myself:
private void CreateSchedule()
{
System.Reflection.Assembly ASM = System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly();
System.IO.FileInfo FileInfo = new System.IO.FileInfo(ASM.Location + ".config");
System.Xml.XmlDocument XmlDocument = new System.Xml.XmlDocument();
XmlDocument.Load(FileInfo.FullName);
string Value;
foreach (System.Xml.XmlNode Node in XmlDocument.SelectNodes("configuration/appSettings/add"))
{
Value = Node.Attributes.GetNamedItem("value").Value;
switch (Node.Attributes.GetNamedItem("key").Value)
{
case "XXXXXXX":
// My code here
break;
case "YYYYYYY":
// My code here
break;
default:
break;
}
}
}

FileIO should be faster. You should consider using an existing logging component like log4net[^]. You will safe a lot of work this way.
|
|
|

|
File I/O should faster than any other method (it has his backwards). You can use MS Enterprise Library to switch between the destiny of the log by modifying the config.

I try to convert my project from version 1.1 to version 2.0 and using VB.NET.
When I run my project in VS 2005, I get this error:
Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debug target 'C:\Projects\SCM\bin\SCM.exe' is missing. Please build the project and retry, or set the OutputPath and AssemblyName properties appropriately to point at the correct location for the target assembly.
Any ideas for error message above ??

Have you checked the upgrade log for your project for any messages? Has the project been rebuilt successfully? Is the account you're logged in under a member of the Debugger Users group?

I can't rebuilt my project succesfully cause get certain errors, those errors are about name, type of control or form is not defined
I had include one of the reference which is the version 1.0.0.0, isn't this matter cause I can't run my project properly??
By the way, how do I check the account that I logged is under a member of the Debugger Users group and upgrade log for my project
Thanks for your help, Dave Kreskowiak

You can't run your project because you can't compile the bloody thing. Fix the problems first, then it'l compile, then you'll actually have something to run!
angelagke wrote: how do I check the account that I logged is under a member of the Debugger Users group
Right-click MyComputer, pick Manage. Expand the Users and Groups folder, then click on the Groups folder. Double-click the Debugger Users group.
angelagke wrote: upgrade log for my project
The Upgrade log will be in a file in your project's folder, called UpgradeReport.xml. Double-click that to open it in a web browser for all the details on what the Upgrade Wizard did and what it couldn't do.

Hi,
So I'm using WMI in .net with C# to start up a set of processes on a large number of remote machines. All is working well in my code to start up the processes and they are showing up fine both in WMI queries as well as in the taskmanagers of the target machines. However, as per the default for process invocation in WMI I cannot see the apps' windows on the desktop of the target machines. I've been searching around all morning to help find an answer to allow the windows to show up on the desktop so i can watch their progress, but the best I could find was some VB/WSH examples like the following...
Const SW_NORMAL = 1<br />
strComputer = "."<br />
strCommand = "Notepad.exe"<br />
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _<br />
& "{impersonationLevel=impersonate}!\\" _<br />
& strComputer & "\root\cimv2")<br />
<br />
' Configure the Notepad process to show a window<br />
Set objStartup = objWMIService.Get("Win32_ProcessStartup")<br />
Set objConfig = objStartup.SpawnInstance_<br />
objConfig.ShowWindow = SW_NORMAL<br />
<br />
' Create Notepad process<br />
Set objProcess = objWMIService.Get("Win32_Process")<br />
intReturn = objProcess.Create _<br />
(strCommand, Null, objConfig, intProcessID)<br />
If intReturn <> 0 Then<br />
Wscript.Echo "Process could not be created." & _<br />
vbNewLine & "Command line: " & strCommand & _<br />
vbNewLine & "Return value: " & intReturn<br />
Else<br />
Wscript.Echo "Process created." & _<br />
vbNewLine & "Command line: " & strCommand & _<br />
vbNewLine & "Process ID: " & intProcessID<br />
End If
Anyone know how to allow desktop interaction for the processes?
