This is an Exception in some of the application you were currently using( May be in some web application). This exception will come if that perticular application is not properly handled
If that application is handled properly( Means at least code is written in Try- catch block), Message box will open, there all that error message will be dipalyed, If not as you mentioned same thing will appear.

Hi
Can any one help me to understand what may cause this error
"System.InvalidCastException:
Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to class type 'mshtml.HTMLAnchorElementClass'.
COM components that enter the CLR and do not support IProvideClassInfo or that do not have any interop assembly registered will be wrapped in the __ComObject type.
Instances of this type cannot be cast to any other class;
however they can be cast to interfaces as long as the underlying COM component supports QueryInterface calls for the IID of the interface.
at UserControls.HTMLView.ExtractControls.ExtractInfoFromToolStrip(HtmlElement element, ToolStrip toolStrip)"
I am new to .NET and C programming in general,I would appreciate if some one could explain why this error appears give me some advice or pointers on what to look for to resolve it
Many thanks

Hi all,
I have a data grid to list rows and am printing from IE using javascript window.print(). Its working very fine. But I like to print header in each page of my print. Is it possible?
Also I am using the following script to set up the page break after printing 15 items in a page. It is working all right. Is there any other way to insert page break after certain page margin?
private void dgResults_ItemCreated(object sender, System.Web.UI.WebControls.DataGridItemEventArgs e)
{
if(e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.Item || e.Item.ItemType == ListItemType.AlternatingItem)
{
count++;
if(count > 15)
{
e.Item.Style.Add("page-break-after","always");
count = 0;
}
}
}
Is there any similar way to add header in each page? Or is it possible to add ListItemType.Header in the middle?
Thanks and Regards
Renu

I haven't tried this myself so I am using the general message type. Anyway, in CSS2 there is an At-Rule called &media. &media screen { .... } applies to the browser's display, and &media print { ... } applies to printed out. If you create a "header row" first initially, after each of the page breaks and have this "header row" hidden to the browser:
<br />
&media screen { .hidden {display: none;} }<br />
You have to apply this hidden class attribute to the header "row" of the DataGrid. You may have to apply this class style to the children controls too. Also, I don't guarantee this will work.

Hi and thank you for this great forums collection,
I'm debugging a large scale source code and the debugger just jumps, seems like randomly, from one line to another between the two methods(one method calls the other).
can someone please explain me whats going on?

Hi
Is there any way to list all the registered assesmblies on a system? I mean those assemblies which we register using regasm?
(Please note: I don't meant registered assemblies in GAC. I know how to list shared assemblies using gacutil)

Dear all,
i have developed a multilingual application using C#.NET in VS.NET 2003.
Here i am using the resource files to get the required data based on the selected Culture.
The display details are perfect for labels, buttons, richtext boxes etc...
But, in the text boxes, messages boxes, Display name of the form & menu names only squares are displayed for some special characters based on the selected culture.
Did anyone face the same problem. Kindly guide me to achieve the same so that i can display the details based on the selected languages/cultures in all the controls
Best regards,
Abhilash

I don't know much about this but my suggestion is
you install that cultures font on your system
or
check for font embedding technique

Weak typing in VB.NET has allowed this to work in some instances, as VB casts it for you ( not necessarily to what you were hoping )

I have .net remoting service which is running on .net framework 1.1 and I am trying to write a client application that consumes this service using .net framework 2.0 this time. Until now everything worked fine except one case, when I am trying to access a MemoryStream received from the remoting server.
The definition of the function from server interface is something like this:
MemoryStream GetPicture(some parameters);
When I am calling the function from the server I get back a reference (MemoryStream inherits MarshalByRef), but when I'm trying to access any of its functions nothing seams to work. What I get is a time out exception, but if I go deeper into the inner exceptions everything is caused during the deserialization process when the CLR tries to call some functions of the MemoryStream class (for example CanSeek which is a public property) that it knows are public, but the server don't respond.
The service is developed by a third party and is not possible to ask for a .net 2.0 version, or to add another function to their interface which should return a byte[] instead of MemoryStream, which I think that would be more optimum for perfomance too.
The single solution that I am seeing now is to write a .net 1.1 component which should consume this service and return at its turn something else for the 2.0 application that can be consumed more easily.
Have somebody other idea that could help me out of this situation, to avoid this 1.1 component?
Thank you

i have a problem concerning the windows service and message queue,
i want to make two services communicate with each other using MSMQ
the problem is that one of these servics is an MFC service and the other
one is .net service, when i normnally used the MSMQ the MFC service cant send messages to the .net service but when i use an MFC windows application
with the same code it sends the message normally
So any suggestions or any other means of communication can be achieved between these two services ?
