Hi,
I'm trying to connect to a web service. I can connect to it and see a list of supported methods from my computer at home but I can't see it from a computer at work. I've asked the provider of the web service to stick a test HTML page at the same location of the web service and I can see this page from both computers. In other words, I can see a web page from my work computer but can't see a web service published at the same location!
This is confusing me because I thought web services did all their work via port 80. This is like there's another port being used which is blocked.
Can anyone explain this? Is a web service's traffic over port 80 exclusively?
Even more confusingly, from my work machine I can connect to another web service at another location just fine. This surely means that my machine is not preventing me from accessing web services, it means that even though I can view other web services and HTML from a particular server, I can't access one particular web service.
How can this be?

Standard question #1:
What do you mean by "not working"?
Standard question #2:
What error message do you get?
What happens when you try? What error message do you get?

Once your happy with your work click Build, Publish Web Site. This should build the site files and out them in My Documents, Projects, [Name of your project]. Download a FTP program such as Smart FTP and upload it to some web server. The webserver MUST have ASP.NET version 2 installed for your site to work.
|
|
|
|
|
If you want to deploy your web site in local intranet first you must instal IIS. Then navigate to Administrative Tools choose IIS and create new virtual catalog. The wizard will run you through the proces.

I suppose first of all u have to publish ur website. by right clicking the project on solution bar.
It will convert ur code in to dlls,and create a secure virtual dictory, then u can use any method to deploy it in the web... and ofcourse that server should have the 2.0 framework.

hi all,
I need help for writting a client side code (JavaScript function) that changes the color of a row in datagrid when this row is clicked.
The grid is rendered as html table on the client,and the problem is how to associate the javascript function with each table row generated from the grid???!!!
I think also that this function will be passed an argument of this Row ID ..
How to accomplish that ?? Code samples will be very helpful.
and is there any way to determine if a row have been clicked form the server side code??
Thanks in advance for your help and cooperation

Hi,
On row created event of grid u can add javascript function like this
e.Row.Attributes.Add("onclick", "ChangeBackColor(this);")
and javascritp will look like this:
var pRow;
var storecolor;
function ChangeBackColor(row)
{
if(pRow!=null)
{
var chkdetialbox=pRow.getElementsByTagName("input");
if(chkdetialbox[0].checked==false )
pRow.style.backgroundColor=storecolor;
else
pRow.style.backgroundColor='#A5C1B0';
}
pRow=row;
if (row.style.backgroundColor!='#F7F6F3' || row.style.backgroundColor!='White')
{
storecolor=row.style.backgroundColor;
row.style.backgroundColor = '#A5C1B0';
}
else
{
row.style.backgroundColor=storecolor;
}
if(pRow==row)
row.style.backgroundColor='#A5C1B0';
}
now u can eaisly change the color of row.
Many Thanks, adnan

Security Exception
Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file.

If the zip utility is trying to save files to the web server then it needs to have the correct permissions. This may be something your provider can do for you but they may not do it. On your local machine you most probably have the permission set up to allow this write.
|
|
|
|
|
Sounds like the DLL needs to run in Full Trust Mode, most hosting companies only allow Partial trust mode. You can ask them to change this but don't bet on it.

Hello,
I'm using a TreeView Control in my webapplication. For the subnodes I'm enabling "ShowCheckBox=true". The CheckBox Id is generated by .Net. How to assign CheckBoxId to the TreeNode?? I created a custom control and extended the class with TreeView. I added a property "CheckBoxId". But how to assign this string value to the CheckBox. I dont want the .Net to generate the automatic CheckBoxId.

Ya its working.
Since i have kept the textbox as "Multiline",that scroll gets visible when i include <div...>
Also i want to make the textbox's scrollbar enabled,even if the control is disabled.
|
|
|
|
|
I think, if you make it readonly (readonly=true) rather then disabling it, will help you.
good luck

Thanks Neeraj...
I tried it...its working.But i want to make the scrollbar enabled even if the control is disabled.
