Hello,
In a project i need a few comboboxes with the same datasource (collection) When I select a item in one of the comboboxes then all the other comboboxes change to that item.
To fill the comboxes I use
With Cmb1
.DataSource = Nothing
.DisplayMember = "Name"
.ValueMember = "ID"
.DataSource = Collection
End With
With Cmb2
.DataSource = Nothing
.DisplayMember = "Name"
.ValueMember = "ID"
.DataSource = Collection
End With
During runtime I have to refill te comboboxes with new data, a new collection

Hi Jodd,
I think the order in which you try to bind your data source to your comboboxes is a bit off, try something like this:
<br />
With Cmb1<br />
.DataSource = Collection<br />
.DisplayMember = "Name"<br />
.ValueMember = "ID"<br />
End With<br />
With Cmb2<br />
.DataSource = Collection<br />
.DisplayMember = "Name"<br />
.ValueMember = "ID"<br />
End With<br />
But was that the actual question?
Johan
My advice is free, and you may get what you paid for.
|
|
|
|
|
Not realy, but I have found it myself
just add .BindingContext = New BindingContext and it works
But thanks
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah, if you have this kind of situation, all the controls involved must share the same binding context or currency manager.

Hi,
I would like to know how to debug through a code with running an exe.
e.g. I have a class library in which some functions are defined and a windows application that dynamically (while running) loads and calls the functions from the class library. Currently what I can do is that while running I can debug through the main application, but not in class library.
What i need is the functionality in which I can debug through the class library also?
Please Help
Thanks in advance...
Regards,
Parag Gupta

You can use the 'attach to process' option in the debug menu to debug a running program.

This is normal Serial Communication stuff. If you're using VB.NET, you can Google for examples with "VB.NET SerialPort class". If using VB6, you'll use "VB6 Serial Communication".

ShellExecute is how to run the default program, I *think* VB6 does that.
If not, can you interop it in VB6 ? ShellExecute is an API call ( that is, something the OS offers to C and C++ )

I have an email sending application and it works fine for internal emails.
But when i try to send mails to external domains e.g. yahoo, hotmail etc it does not send them as relay server is stopped on SMTP.
Is there a way i can send emails to external domains without opening relay.
|
|
|
|
|
You'll either have to use relay or an external SMTP server to send your mail.
If using realy, the upstream servers must trust your SMTP server for this to work, which probably won't happen in your lifetime if the upstream server is an ISP.
If using an external SMTP server you'll have to have a user account on it in order to use it at all.

We opened the relay and tried using the credentials
Dim objSMPT As New System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient
objSMPT.DeliveryMethod = SmtpDeliveryMethod.Network
Dim ic As New System.Net.NetworkCredential
ic.Domain = "ionsoftnet.com"
ic.UserName = ""
ic.Password = ""
objSMPT.Credentials = ic
if i pass wrong credentials or blank even then the mail is sent which should not happen as others can use it also.

Well that sounds like a security problem with your mail server, doesn't it?

Do you have any article or link so that we can solve this problem.
It is critical for us.

All you need is the documentation on your SMTP server.
