J# was created to make it easier to port from java .net. While it might've been used a fair amount in that role back in 02 by people who originally wrote their apps in j++ before sun killed it, no one's using it anymore so MS has decided to stop developing it.

Hi, I have been looking for a simple, free, forum software download I can use. I have had problems with "Yet another forum" and "Jumpy Forum". My preference would be a .NET 1.1 or 2.0 (even better) application in C#. I've scoured the Internet, but no luck so far. Could anybody please recommend one?
Thanks

Hi!
I am trying to creat the body for an email. First I create the text of the email like this:
System.Text.StringBuilder sbBody = new System.Text.StringBuilder();
sbBody.Append(" asdasfsdgfdfg dfgh \r\n");
sbBody.Append("fw4 34wtrc345v345345gv43bv3 \r\n");
sbBody.Append("asdasdaskjfn39i4fn3498gn4oegerlkg. \r\n");
Then I start a process that launches the email client. The problem is that the text of the email is not displayed correctly in Outlook, meaning that the \r\n are ignored(if I display the text in a message box the \r\n work fine). Can anyone help me with this problem...
PS: I have tried using Convert.toChar(13) but still nothing...

If it's in HTML view, \r\n won't have any effect. You'd need a <br /> tag there instead.

I have tried adding <BR> instead of \r\n...but in this case it just displays <BR> in the text...this means that it is not in HTML view mode

How are you sending the mail body to the process?

strMail = "mailto:" + strAddress + "?subject=" + strSubj;
strMail += "&body=" + sbBody.toString();
System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(strMail);

Hello guys in this forum .
in some programs i download as free trial , i saw some Api(s) calls written in ansi C and in C++ , these Api(s) enable me to get some information from the installed program or inject to it commands to be executed once i refer to these Apis in my application , so the question is:
how can i develop an application and expose some Api(s) like that for other developers to use to communicate with my application ??????
Thank you very much

Is there a possible way to find who is using an executable on a network share? If so could you point me in the right direction? thnx.

I wrote a code project article on this:
http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/OpenFiles.asp[^]
The short answer is log on to the network sever, go to the computer management then shared folders then open files.
By the way I like the reference to Romans 12:21
Hope that helps.

On the machine with the share, right-click MyComputer, click Manage. Under System Tools, open Shared Folders. It should be obvious from there.

Is there a possibility for a memberwise compare of two structs / classes?
|
|
|
|
|
Hello,
Maybe Reflection helps you at this problem.
object yourclass1;
Type t = yourclass.GetType();
foreach(PropertyInfo pi in t.GetProperties())
{
pi.GetValue(yourclass,new object[0]);
}
Hope it helps!
All the best,
Martin

You could implement the IComparable or IComparer interface
only two letters away from being an asset
|
|
|
|
|
Yeah, bu I don't want to
A generic implementaiton could be done via reflection - but I wonder if something like that already exists.

I think the default object.Equals does it through reflection, not sure..
Anyway, comparing through reflection is horribly slow, not a good idea imo.

in our listview we enabled sorting by clicking on the headers... now after you clicked on one of the headers and you clear the listview with lvTest.Items.Clear(); and add new items into the list view it gives an error: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: InvalidArgument = value of '1' is not valid for 'index'. Parameter name: index . I might be wrong but, is this because the listview still remembers the sortation and as soon as the new entries are loaded into the listview it sees that they are not sorted accordingly and displays this error message... If so, is there a way to say (right after the lvTest.Items.Clear(); section in our code) to reset the listview so that it won't sort in any way... (until you click on the headers again of course.) ???
Thank you in advance.
