In an ASP.NET (Web Forms) app, that's simply not possible.

I repeat, in an ASP.NET app, no matter what language it's written in, it's not possible to hide the users Task Bar and/or Desktop.

Iam designing a form with labels and Textboxes.
The TExt of the label is long. SO I have to set Wrap text for the labels.
Please tell me how to set wrap text for a label in VB.NET
|
|
|
|
|
This probably isn't the best example, but it's the only thing I could think of:
Dim StartVar As Integer = 5
Dim EndVar As Integer = Label1.Text.Length
Dim Tempstring As String
While Not StartVar < 5
Tempstring = Label1.Text.Insert(StartVar, ControlChars.NewLine)
Label1.Text = Tempstring
StartVar += 5
If StartVar >= EndVar Then
Exit While
End If
End While
This example inserts a new line every 5 characters, and then stops if it runs out of characters. Just replace StartVar with the number of characters you want to have on each line of your label.
Hope this helps!
Trinity: Neo... nobody has ever done this before.
Neo: That's why it's going to work.

You can turn the AutoSize property off, the set the size of the label yourself. With AutoSize turned off, the label control does automatic word wrap.

Colleagues,
Is there a reusable generic VB6 form/dialog for COM port configuration (like a port settings dialog in the HyperTerminal)? It would have: baud rate, data bits, parity etc. I couldn’t find something like that with Google (neither DLL nor source code).
Thanks,
Nick
P.S. If it doesn’t exist, I’ll write one and post it on Code Project.

Nope. You'll have to make your own.

I also need to know how I can make it so that I have .net framework in the program so just in case its not install on the computer that the browser is running on.

The blockers are there for a reason. You need access to a proxy outside the school network, which, if the IT staff has any brains, have blocked access to those too. You can NOT get around the firewalls and proxies your school is using.

There is nothing in the .NET Framework that does this. There are a few third party products that do do this, but they cost big $$$, on the order of $500 per developer.

Could someone please help me out with this problem I have been struggling with this past week?
Some background info:
I am trying to insert new row(s) into a datagridview called "CustSalesOpportunityLineDataGridView" (that is databound to a table called "custsalesopportunityline" in a master-detail form that contains includes the header info as well).
I have also created a generic product selection form that contains a datagridview called "ArticleDataGridView" that displays all the info and contains the filters that users need to efficiently search and filter out products. The dataset for the "ArticleDataGridView" is based on a view that I have created in the database.
On the "ArticleDataGridView" I have created a column called "Select_Article" that is a DataGridViewCheckBoxColumn. (false value = 0, indeterminate = 0, true =1). If the users want to add a particular product to the SalesOpportunityLine datagridview they should be able to check the checkbox for each desired row and then click the AddAndContinueButton. The Select_Article checkbox column is the leftmost column of the datagridview.
For each product that they have selected in the articledatagridview a new row in the "CustSalesOpportunityLineDataGridView" should be created and displayed as well as the articleID, name and Salesopportunityheaderid.
Is the code below written correctly to:
Test for the checkbox.checked=true on the first column of the datagridview
Write values to the "CustSalesOpportunityLineDataGridView".
Nothing happens when I run the code in debug.....
Private Sub AddAndContinueButton_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles AddAndContinueButton.Click<br />
<br />
For Each dgvRow As DataGridViewRow In Me.ArticleDataGridView.SelectedRows<br />
If Me.ArticleDataGridView.Item(1, ArticleDataGridView.CurrentRow.Index).Value = 1 Then<br />
Dim dt As DataTable = Me.SalesOpportunity.Tables("custsalesopportunityline")<br />
Dim dtRow As DataRow = dt.NewRow()<br />
dtRow("Salesopportunityheaderid") = NewSalesOpportunity.SalesoppHeaderID<br />
dtRow("articleid") = dgvRow.Cells("ArticleIdDataGridViewTextBoxColumn").Value<br />
dtRow("work_articlename") = dgvRow.Cells("ProduktnavnDataGridViewTextBoxColumn").Value<br />
dt.Rows.Add(dtRow)<br />
<br />
End If<br />
Next<br />
<br />
End Sub

I have about 400 zip files contained in a folder for a project at work and I need to get the csv files out. Is there a way to extract them all at once or will I have to get someone to do it!
What I would Ideally like to do is try and get it all automated as I will have to manipulate the csv files afterwards and load them into a database. Someone will have to do this every month and it sure aint gonna be me.
Many Thanks

You could unzip these things using the command line options of WinZip, or whatever you're using for .ZIP files, and write a DOS batch file to enumerate the files in the folder where they are stored. This batch file would use a FOR statement to grab each filename in the directory and launch WinZip with the correct command line parameters to unpack the files.

Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to make a presskey event fire.
The thing is I receive a message trough the serial port which i capture with datareceived event, then i parse the message and depending on the data i need to fire the presskey event. Like i may get the message left arrow key pressed -> how write a code that the application will act the same as if I would press the button on my keyboard.
Hope I was clear with my problem.
PS: I tried SendKeys.Send("{LEFT") but that doesn't work, i guess its becouse application is for smart device windows ce 5.0.
Thanks in advance
Greg

Are you able to process the received message correctly? Or do you need the key press from your keyboard to go back to the sending application? If the former you could simply call whatever method it is you need to run after processing the received message (if I've understood you correctly).

Hey,
yes I can receive message trough serial port I parse it and call sendkeys.send({DOWN}) ....
Btw: sendkeys works for smartdevice too but you need to download opennetCF... and reference the dll.
on active form the control from one button to another moves so the sendkeys works, but now i am having problem how to catch which key was sent trough sendkeys to active form...for example if lets say ESC key will be sent i need to do something...if I would be using keyboard i would use Keypressed event ...and if e.keys = ESC then
do something....
but how to catch this when i send which key is pressed trough sendkeys.send???
hope i am not to complicating but this is essential for my app.
Thanks

i am using a extensibility-shared add-in project in which i show a form when the power point slide show starts
Private Sub pptApplication_SlideShowNextSlide(ByVal Wn As Interop.PowerPoint.SlideShowWindow) Handles pptApplication.SlideShowNextSlide
Form1.show()
End Sub
I accept the key events and mouse evets on this form and when i press a right arrow key the form should remain visible and focus should come on the powerpoint slide so that when i press the right arrow key again it should fire the powerpoint's slideshownext event. but i am not able to remove the focus from the form and hence the slideshow next event is not getting fired. can any1 please help ?

You'd have to use the Win32 API functions FindWindow and SetForegroundWindow to activate the application then you use SendKeys[^] to send the keystrokes you want to send to the PowerPoint window.

Hello All,
Is there any way to extract signer info(certificate details) programmetically from p7s file? I am ready to use CryptoAPI,CAPICOM,FRX 2.0.
I know its possible because double clicking p7s file opens "Certificates MMC" on my windows XP SP2 box and shows me signer's certificate details(Issued To, Expiry,Issued by).
Thanks,

Hi all,

Thanking U.

You cannot talk to someone through a modem as if it were a phone. Not unless the modem you ahve specifically has this capability, which I seriously doubt. After the modem dials the phone number, you have to pickup the phone!
