Hi
i was make a report using crystal report
and connect it to Oracle Database
the problem is that
the Oracle Adapter ge tthe data correctly
but the report dose not define the arabic language
its appear like this ?????
how i can solve this ?

hi,
i think either font is not installed on your system or you does not change the font of fields(which relete to arabic language).If font is installed on your system, then on report select field which is related to arabic language and then changes its font from properties window.
Hope this helps

i was trying to write the following code.i think i am missing some framework base class to import.
dim key as Microsoft.win32.registrykeys =registry.localmachine
Now the problem is
where the registry.localmachine resides ?

are you talking about the registry itself or the .net framework?

it resides on your source code!!
Nilish wrote: dim key as Microsoft.win32.registrykeys =registry.localmachine

if you are not sure about the namespace, then the answer is in your question: Microsoft.Win32
but if you are not sure about the registry key, the answer is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
to find this out, just type the command - regedit in the command prompt.
you can also use functions like OpenSubKey(), SetValue(), GetValue() etc... if you require.

You're missing an Import at the top of your code:
Imports Microsoft.Win32
.
.
.
Dim key As RegistryKey = Registry.LocalMachine

Hi!
I have a exe file which when run downloads a number of files via webclient.downloadfile() method. Now by default its going in the same directory where this exe resides. I would like to point the files that are being downloaded to another server. could someone help
thanks

This depends on how your web service works. Do you get to supply the filename and/or full path to where the file gets stored? If not, you'll have to put up with the file getting downloaded to its current location, the you'll have to copy it to your server location when the download is complete.

Thanks for the reply. i figured out myself i just have to place the folder location before the filename. Its not really a web service. I get list of foldername/filename as a database record and i loop through each of the record and download them. now another problem i am facing is. sometime i get 404 exception and it just stops. how could i skip the file if its not found.
codes:
Private Sub btnDownloadImages_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnDownloadImages.Click
Dim myDAL As New clsDAL
Dim dr As DataRow
Try
Dim dt As DataTable = myDAL.getImages()
If (Not dt Is Nothing) Then
For Each dr In dt.Rows
ProcessImageNames(dr("Art_Image_file_URL_stem"))
Next
End If
Catch ee As Exception
Throw ee
End Try
End Sub
Private Sub ProcessImageNames(ByVal strFileName As String)
try
Dim myStringWebResource As String = Nothing
' Create a new WebClient instance.
Dim myWebClient As New WebClient
' Concatenate the domain with the Web resource filename. Because DownloadFile
'requires a fully qualified resource name, concatenate the domain with the Web resource file name.
myStringWebResource = remoteUri + fileName
'Console.WriteLine("Downloading File ""{0}"" from ""{1}"" ......." + ControlChars.Cr + ControlChars.Cr, fileName, myStringWebResource)
' The DownloadFile() method downloads the Web resource and saves it into the current file-system folder.
myWebClient.DownloadFile(myStringWebResource, "c:\images\" + fileName)
Catch ee As Exception
Throw ee
Finally
Me.Cursor = Cursors.Default
End Try
End Sub
---
thanks in advance.

I am not a big fan of the AOL Instant Messanger Software. I have been using Pidgen/Gaim for a while now, and there nice, but I would really like to make my own AIM client with VB.net 2003.
I have tried Fluent.TOC, however, when I use the toc.SignOn() method, the program hangs. I am certain that the screen name and password are right, as they work correctly when logging in in Gaim.
(I am a fairly experienced VB.net programmer, but haven't used these boards before - i created my account to look at and download articles.)

Your single best source of information is going to be a support board around that library. It's VERY unlikely that you'll find anyone here who as used that library, or just sending a note to Fluent Consulting.

Hello,
I have to print a PDF file in my project
Now I'm using following code
Dim NP As New Process()
NP.StartInfo.FileName = "c:\" & PdfFile
NP.StartInfo.WindowStyle = ProcessWindowStyle.Hidden
NP.StartInfo.Verb = "Print"
NP.Start()
NP.WaitForExit(9000)
If Not NP.HasExited Then
NP.Kill()
End If
This works fine on the default printer. The question is : how to let the user choose a different printer or is there an other way to print the pdf file without acrobat ???
|
|
|
|
|
Your overall approach is obviously a hack. You need instead to use some sort of library that allows you to deal with a pdf within your own process.
Or, you could just change the default printer to whatever the user selects, then change it back, if you don't mind another hack.
