To do this, you cannot rely on the picturebox painting the picture for you. You have to supply the code to paint the picture yourself. This is because in order to map the mouse point coordinates in the picture box to the image its displaying, you MUST know the scaling values being used to scretch the image. Since the picturebox doesn't expose these to you when it draws the image, you have to calculate the scaling values yourself.

Wew, seems pretty hard I have no idea on how to calculate those values, do you have any suggestions?

You may want to look at Google for this[^] article for an example. You can check for the .NET Framework, but checking for SQL Server is pointless because the server may be running on an entirely different machine.

You don't. VB6 doesn't support writing a web service.

I have a cheap bar code scanner which I use a serial interface with and accessibility options (serialkeys).
I have a USB cable for the scanner but I have absolutely no idea how to program this so that I can input data from the bar code scanner.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Usually the device vendors provide RS232 emulation (or suitable library to communicate via USB), refer to you bar code scanner documentation.

Hi ,
simply open any Editor ex: Notepad
scan the Light Of your Bar code scanner over any Barcode like Any book or Item, The SerialNo or the Code will be printed on notepad .MAtch this number with the one written under the barcode to verify

Usually, barcode scanners give you the data through the keyboard, just like the user typed it. You'll have to consult the documentation on the scanner to see if this is true. Once you determine that, you can plan your code.

I’m USING VB 2005 to write web forms. In the tutorial it tells me to display the page in design view and then select DOCUMENT from the object list box at the top of the property window, then find the DefaultClientScript property and change it to VBScript. The problem being is that I can not find this property.
Help please, as I'm new to the ASP.NET environment.
Regards
Graeme Guildford.
I am always greteful for any help!

Try asking in the ASP.NET Forum[^].
The tutorial is either for an older verision of ASP.NET (.NET Framework 1.1 or lower), or is just plain wrong. There is no property called "DefaultClientScript" that I can find. Then again, I don't do any ASP.NET work, so I could easily be wrong.

Pls send me asap.
Thanks and Regards.

n-tier is the logical seperation of your code where n is the number of layers. By seperating your code into tiers/layers you are making it potentially more maintainable, more flexable and more scalable.
That all depends on if you do a good job of it or not though :P
Here's an ok, if a bit preachy, article:

You have been here long enough to have read the forum guidelines. The highlights:
1. No text speak.
2. Using words like 'help' 'urgent' or 'asap' are considered rude.
3. Some of your questions are basic and would be answered by using this wonderful thing called Google.

Try looking at www.asp,net and then use the 3 tier architecture tutorial link - it shows you basically step by step.
Hope this helps.

I'm looking after a legacy VB6 app. It connects to windows 2000 advanced server which is domain controller (with active directory), and downloads the organizational units and all the security groups under them and populate tree view control. then when user selects the organizational unit it shows the groups under this unit in a grid. After this when a group is clicked in the grid, it populates the second grid with the users from this group. The problem at production machine is that it populate the second grid with some users, but others are not fetched.
I have installed active directory on one 2k3 server in my development environment. When i execute the program on that machine it fetches all the units, groups and users fine. but when ever i run it from any other machine, which is part of the active directory domain (even logging as administrator user on the client machine) it gives error (Table does not exists). Please help me!

It could be many things. I'd start with AD security and make sure that the request for all the users is actually returning what you think it should be. If not, you've got an AD security problem. After that, make sure the grid is being popoulated correctly from your list, be it adding the users line-by-line or if the grid is bound to the data.

Thanks for reply. It was due to network and nothing else. The client and AD server was using different DNS servers so some times it performed okay and other time it was eratic.
Thanks again.

Hi ,
I would like to know anyway to insert two strings into a row with 2 lines created?
My codes are as below
If NodeName = "subProductPrice" Then
If xmlrder.NodeType = Xml.XmlNodeType.Text Then
SubPrPriceList.Add(xmlrder.Value)
For i = 0 To SubPrPriceList.Count - 1
SubPrPrice = CStr(SubPrPriceList.Item(i))
PriceBrkDownStr &= SubPrPrice
Next
PricePerDay = SvcDate & PriceBrkDownStr
dr("dailyPrice") = PricePerDay
End If
End If
Although both the SvcDate and PriceBrkDownStr are inserted into the same row but they are displayed into one line such as below:
dailyPrice
02/03/2007 03/03/2007 120 230
Any idea how to make the date and price separate into two rows in the same table grid row? thanks =)

Hi, appreciate for ur prompt reply. However, i've tried using this way before but it doesnt work. I've tried using the code below
PricePerDay = SvcDate & System.Environment.NewLine & PriceBrkDownStr
I'm doubt whether is it only work for new line in string and not in table grid?
Cheers,
