I don't understand your question - "page buttons"?, "going to the next page in the gridview"?
Does the GridView save its ViewState (Property ViewState == true).
What are you doing in either PreLoad, or Load of the Page - method overrides or event handlers.

Hi all,
Ive built an app that involves searching a database, i have an access database, but as it is now getting quite large it is taking a long time to search.
At the moment i am doing it using quereys, but each time it fills the data it can take a while then even longer when after doing the search it has to then fill the entire table again.
Im sure there must be a way of simply filtering the data, can anyone help with ideas of how i can do this?
Thanks

As you've posted no code i'll assume you are loading the entire database table into a System.Data.DataTable and using the Select method to do your filtering. If this is the case, then what you really want to be doing is writing the query such that any filtering of data is done in the database and only the results loaded into the datatable.
Your options for this are limited in Access to using the LIKE keyword in your query.
SELECT * FROM myTable WHERE myColumn LIKE '%something%'

Right, im fairly new to this so here goes trying to explain a little more...
I load all of the data into the app using tableadapter.Fill as there is data to be refrenced and displayed, but i have created a querey using the dataset designer then i load it using the tableadpater.quereyname. That runs ok but then i have to reload the information back in so it will display all the data. Thats the bit that really takes the time.
I was thinking that surely there is a way that it loads the information once but then when you search it will simply hide records that do not match what your searching for, a filter rather than a search? That way, when you display all the data, it simply removes the filter.
Is that clear what im trying to acheive? Am i way off here?
below is a bit of the code im using....
To get all the data....
this.tecTableAdapter.Fill(this.tecDataSet.History);
Then to search....
this.tecTableAdapter.SearchN(this.tecDataSet.History, sn.Text);

Seeing as I have no clue what tecTableAdapter represents the code is pretty useless. (I was going to assume it was something like a SqlDataAdapter but that does not have a method SearchN)
However it is clear enough what you are trying to do, just not very clear where you have a problem. If you want to display all the data and it takes too long to load then don't show all the data all in one go. Load up, say, a page of 100 records at a time.

Hello,
I have a data table which has multiple columns. I want to create another data table with only selected columns.
For Example
If my datatable1 has below columns:
Emp no, Name, Age, Date Of Birth, Join Date
I want to create another datatable with below columns
Name, Age, Date Of Birth
I do not want to loop the datatable and insert the values in another datatable.
Please suggest an optimized way of doing it.
Regards,
Pavas

If the destination table already exists, look up the INSERT INTO command... otherwise you might want to look up SELECT INTO

Hi,
Iam new to C#.Net. Can anyone help how to write wrapper classes for Streaming media player in C#, and any sample programs on wrapper classes.

A wrapper class is usually where a piece of non-OO functionality is wrapped encapsulated in a class so that the callers of the class don't have to deal with the non-OO implementation. There are many classes in the .NET Framework that are wrapper classes around parts of the Win32 API.
You can also get wrapper classes where the class encapsulates complex, but repeated, set of functionality from one or more other classes into a single place. In this case, it would more accurately be called a Façade. The My namespace in VB.NET contains many façade classes.

To furher add an item to the list, let's mention the Adapter pattern, that is, at the end, a wrapper class.

I have question regarding the datarow(might be silly one)
1) When we create a datarow object from database with certain data, how can we verify that the data is properly loaded in datarow object.
2)In window application, I am filling up a listview with data from DB, Now database is updating regularly. So, i also want that listview reflect the chages accordingly.(like refresh)
How can i acheive this in window application?

What? How does this answer the OP? He's asked for a regular expression not gibberish.
|
|
|
|
|
The regular expression "^[^\.]+$" matches a string that is at least one character and has no periods.
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.
|
|
|
|
|
This regular expression gets all ordinary characters plus the . character.

private int i;<br />
private int j=8;<br />
private int k;<br />
{<br />
int i =j;<br />
}<br />
public Test1a(int k)<br />
{<br />
this.k=k<br />
}<br />
}
...
program is not complie why?
|
|
|
|

Because you missed a semicolon after this.k=k ?

Just curious: But didn't the compiler tell you that there was a missing semi-colon? If not what did it say?
