I've got a application on my PDA which uses TCP/IP to communcicate to another application (on a PC).
If I have the PDA plugged in via USB, I can connect via the activesync "network", and the 2 apps play very nicely, and all is good.
If I connect over wireless, it works perfectly well... for a while. But at somepoint my app will freeze, and I have to reboot the PDA. I'm quite sure I have some sort of a bug, probably related to the connection connecting / disconnecting, or some memory leak.
But as it only manifests when running over wireless, I'd like to be able to debug it, and so far I'm failing to find a way to do that.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Even a "you're an idiot, haven't you looked at www.yyyy.com? It's all there..." message would be appreciated!
ps, using VC2008, and it's an MFC app.
Thanks,
Iain.

I had actually spotted those, but thought they were specifically for wm5.
I'll take your reference to them as a vote of confidence!
Thanks,

LPSPropTagArray lpPropTagArray = NULL;
// MAPINAMEID mnidNameID;
LPMAPINAMEID lpPropNames = NULL;

return 1;
structPropValue.Value.LPSZ = NULL;
lpPropNames->lpguid = (LPGUID)&guidRFC822;
lpPropNames->ulKind = MNID_STRING;
lpPropNames->Kind.lpwstrName = NULL;
lpPropNames->Kind.lpwstrName = _wcsdup(L"mmbisPending");
hRes = pMsg->GetIDsFromNames(1, &lpPropNames, MAPI_CREATE, &lpPropTagArray);
the value for hRes is 263040.

Hi,
I have a console application written in C language using Visual Studio. The application will reside in a laptop to dial up to the Internet using a PDA phone. The connection between the laptop and the phone is set up using the Bluetooth Dial-up Profile.
I am able to make normal phone calls to a fixed house line and other mobile telephone number using the ATDT command. But I am unable to connect successfully to the ISP server through GPRS services. I am using the commands AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","APN" and ATDT*99# (*99***1# is also tried). After issuing these 2 commands, I get a CONNECT response and then some unreadable characters appear. Then after a few lines of the unreadable characters, I get a NO CARRIER response.
I would like to find out is there any commands that I left out? Or is there another way for me to set up the PPP link between my laptop and the phone?
Thanks and regards,
PS

After CONNECT you get PPP frame, and you should communicate using PPP protocol after getting CONNECT.
I am looking for C# class to handle PPP, does anyone know where to find?

I was trying to figure out how I would develop a game for my cell phone. But all the examples I have ran across so far focus on the Pocket PC, smart phone or Windows CE. What would I have to know or do to develop a game for my LG Verizon phone to play it? Would this be something I could do using the Mobile Development SDK?
Thanks for the time.

First you need to find out what OS and software platform your phone supports. LG makes Symbian/S60[^] and Windows based smartphones in addition to plain dumb phones.
Java ME[^] is probably the most widely supported phone software platform.

Hello,
VS 2008 WM5.
I have a text box that the user has to enter a version 4 IP address. However, I would like to have the text box format so they can only enter an IP address. In windows forms you can do this with the edit mask textbox. However, I couldn't find this control on the 3.5 CF.
Is there any way to format a text box for formating for a IP address.
So the user can enter something like this 123.34.123.54 without putting the dots in.
Many thanks for any advice,
Steve

Hello everyone,
I am programming a Isapi web application on WinCE with embedded Visual C++ 4.
What I try in the moment is to set a dial-up connection entry.
I took the example from the MSDN website:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms881667.aspx[^]
I extended the example with my RasEntry(http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa450836.aspx[^]) settings and my RasDialParameters(http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa450835.aspx[^]).
So far it works.
When I open the connection properties on the device and then open "Phone Number" there is the "Force Long Distance" option. This option is set. But I don't want that option to be set, because my connection isn't established with the option set!
I couldn't find a flag that I can set with the RasEntry settings.
And I also couldn't find a thing about "Force Long Distance" with google search...
Somebody know if there is a possibility to unset that option programmatically?
Greetings
Thomas

DLLImport CharSet=ChartSet.Ansi
Hello,
I am importing a DLL from a C++.
The DLL requires Ansi to be sent. However, the compact framework 3.5 can only be set for Unicode or Auto. I have tried settign for auto but this failed to work.
I am using C# VS 2008 to create a smart device.
Is there any work around for this problem.
Many thanks for any suggestions,
Steve

Hi.
I'm changing an existing C#/Compact framework 2.0 from using DataSets as the data storage (backed up by XML) to SQL Mobile 2005 (as an offline DB only). I'm doing this because after changing each position of the DataSet we were writing the XML to file system (just in case of a crash, low power, etc). That became very slow under Windows Mobile 5 (RAM -> ROM change).
So I've just finished rewriting the application so that it used SQL Mobile 2005. When only one entry in the DB changes its a lot faster. Great.
But when I delete all data from the DB or I want to insert all records into the DB it takes 1-2 minutes (about 200 entries). This just seems to be way too slow. That means that it can only write about 3 entries per second....that seems really slow.
The read performance is very good.
I'm using Microsoft SQL Server Mobile Edition 3.0.5206.0 from Visual Studio 2005. The performance is bad when running it inside the debugger and using the same code started directly on the PDA (without the VS 2005 debugger running).
I'm not sure how to export my tables as SQL code to code project. Any ideas? or what info can I share which could help anyone (who can help me )
Okay, so I ran a test with a Symbol MC70 (Intel XScale 624 Mhz processor). For 158 entries it took over 2 minutes to delete the DB (I delete each DataRow individually - is this why the delete takes so long?). The inserts took quite a while too, about 30 seconds).
Why are these values so long?
The DB Table has a primary key (4 columns) & the DB Table has a total of 40 columns.
Thanks
Martin
