Hi,
I have added new user for SQL Server so they can access my db. I have also set up a virtual folder which points to the sqlcesa30.dll. I tested in web browser to make sure the .dll is acting as the broker between sqlmobile agent and SQL Server.
However, when I do a pull I get the exception
ex = {"A request to send data to the computer running IIS has failed. For more information, see HRESULT."}
I have read all over the internet and no luck. I have made an exception in windows firewall for HTTP and Secure HTTP so access is available.
I am using VS 2005, SQL Server 2005 and Vista Premium.
Thanks,

Hi there.
Can anyone tell me how to lock my program, so it cant be closed og minimized in any way, not even with hardware buttons.
My program requires two files, an update program and the application itself.
Those two program should be the only two programs that should be able to run at my devices.
It is a kind of a kiosk mode i need. I have tried a few kiosk programs, but they always contains a menu, so my app can be closed to the menu window, which it may not do. If i can lock the OK button (because this button closes my program somehow) in any way at my app, these kiosk program are fine for me..
I hope you understand what i need, i am not english, so i guess my language may be a little bad..
have a nice day..
Haolan

If you are using C#
<br />
private void Form1_Closing(object sender, EventArgs e)<br />
{<br />
e.Cancel = true;<br />
} <br />

Hello,
I want to check values of registry in Windows mobile.
If anyone has any idea regarding this please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

This should be the same as on "normal" windows.
RegOpenKeyEx, RegQueryValueEx are all available.
If you mean like regedit on a PC, I've seen regedit clones for windows mobile before.

I am looking to set up a service that can receive a message from a phone. WHERE THE PHONE IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE MACHINE. I actually want to send a message from a phone directly to a web service. I will be writing the app on the phone as well. Example SMS would help. In other words is it possible to send a message to an IP from a phone in the form of an SMS?

Hello Everyone,
I've searched some posts and articles, and I can't seem to find a good example of making a cf app single instance only. I see that some posts use various Mutex classes that are not fully featured in the cf. Has anyone come across a solution to this?
Thanks,
Ryan

I think that OpenNetCF has a named mutex implementation that can be used across different processes, but I am not sure about it.
The most common solution is to check if a Window is already present and not start a new process:
<br />
[DllImport("coredll.dll", EntryPoint="FindWindow")]<br />
private static extern IntPtr FindWindow(string lpClassName,string lpWindowName);<br />
<br />
[DllImport("coredll.dll")]<br />
private static extern int SetForegroundWindow(IntPtr hWnd);<br />
<br />
[MTAThread]<br />
static void Main(string [] args)<br />
{<br />
string windowName = "MyForm";<br />
<br />
IntPtr window = FindWindow(windowName);<br />
if (window == IntPtr.Zero)<br />
{<br />
Application.Run(new MainForm(windowName));<br />
}<br />
else<br />
{<br />
SetForegroundWindow(window);<br />
}<br />
}<br />
This is not a bullet proof solution, but it works.

Hey Ahzar!
First of all, the time it takes the page to load depends on the the server that you are calling the page from. So I hope that you have a good server machine doing the back end processing.
Secondly, are you using a lot of If Then statements, if yes then that could be another reason?
Third, I am not sure why you need 200 control (which I assume you are refering to HTML elements -> checkboxes) but see if you can break them down into sub pages, just like registering and filling out a form in thre steps. Remember that the Windows Mobiles are not as fast as a normal desktop system.
These are just the general hints that I can give you. It would make more sense if I knew exactly what is it that you are doing etc etc.
Feel free to email me if you need more help.
Regards,
Ali Rashid

It's just a new kind of art. After ASCII art, there's now the controls art
Well ok, it looks a bit messing on such a small screen but it's still art

|

I think I'm gonna have to stay away from that art.

I've got a application on my PDA which uses TCP/IP to communcicate to another application (on a PC).
If I have the PDA plugged in via USB, I can connect via the activesync "network", and the 2 apps play very nicely, and all is good.
If I connect over wireless, it works perfectly well... for a while. But at somepoint my app will freeze, and I have to reboot the PDA. I'm quite sure I have some sort of a bug, probably related to the connection connecting / disconnecting, or some memory leak.
But as it only manifests when running over wireless, I'd like to be able to debug it, and so far I'm failing to find a way to do that.
Can someone point me in the right direction? Even a "you're an idiot, haven't you looked at www.yyyy.com? It's all there..." message would be appreciated!
ps, using VC2008, and it's an MFC app.
Thanks,
Iain.

I had actually spotted those, but thought they were specifically for wm5.
I'll take your reference to them as a vote of confidence!
Thanks,
Iain.
