Click on debug to see exactly the cause of the error. This will take you deep inside the MFC code; Additionally, view the call stack to find out the line that directly/indirectly caused this error!

Well, your application have crashed and windows reports in a polite manner.
"_$h@nky_" wrote: please tell me how can i solve this.
You could run the application under a debugger and can catch the issue.

Debugging would be a good idea. Analysing the log file of your application (if it does logging) is another thing that I can think of.

I guess one of the admins deleted my question about advanced debugging and I have no idea why? Can the admin that deleted the question explain to me why he/she did it?

I have no idea how did you find it. I was searching for it from the page 1 to page 10 and I guess I missed it. I apologize for wrong accusation.

Maybe you couldn't find the thread since the thread starter (you?) is "MeNot", and then you replies as "Rostfrei"

No way. As of now, it is in the 5th page. I am not sure if you surfed through all the 10 pages from the beginning.

Don't worry, such things do happen. Just exercise more caution in the future, that should help.

Hi ,
I want to retrieve the parent of a selected item in a tree control.
I am using
Selected=(HTREEITEM)SendDlgItemMessage(hWnd,
IDC_TREE1,TVM_GETNEXTITEM,TVGN_CARET,(LPARAM)Selected);
Element = (HTREEITEM)SendDlgItemMessage(hWnd,IDC_TREE1,
TVM_SELECTITEM,TVGN_CARET,(LPARAM)Selected);
SendDlgItemMessage(hWnd,IDC_TREE1,
TVM_GETITEM,TVGN_CARET,(LPARAM)&tvi));
and then
i am using
Parent = (HTREEITEM)SendDlgItemMessage(hWnd,IDC_TREE1,
TVM_SELECTITEM,TVGN_PAREN,(LPARAM)Element );
but i am getting NULL value for Parent.
can any one help me with the problem

It's hard to read that unformatted code!
What about something like this:
HWND hwndTree = ::GetDlgItem(hWnd, IDC_TREE1);
HTREEITEM Selected = TreeView_GetSelection(hwndTree);
if (NULL != Selected)
{
HTREEITEM Parent = TreeView_GetParent(hwndTree, Selected);
if (NULL != Parent)
{
...
}
}

Hi,
I want to dismount the physical disk but DeviceIoControl()function with FSCTL_DISMOUNT_VOLUME control code is not work on physical disk handle.
Is FSCTL_DISMOUNT_VOLUME only used with logical drive handle?
|
|
|
|
|
From the documentation: If the operation fails or is pending, DeviceIoControl returns zero (0). To get extended error information, call GetLastError.
Did you try to find out what went wrong by calling GetLastError() ?

I have a dialog with a radio button on it. This dialog is modeless and child of CView class. Can I handle the dialog messages like radio button ON_COMMAND in my view class? I am not receiving these messages in my view class. However, if I add a separate class for dialog, then messages are properly received there.

modeless dialogs don't have a message loop. so if you want to process the messages than you need a second GUI thread to launch and show the dialog!

If your dialog is modal, you can't. But as I suggested yesterday, read a good book on MFC because you are really missing out fundamuntal concepts.

It's realy not possible...

To buy a book ? Well, then try to find some good tutorials about MFC on the net (e.g. google[^]). I think you really need to understand the basics before trying to go any further.
