It depends on if that functionality is built into the PDF SDK that you are using. The PDF format does support this because I have seen it done, but you need to find a library that allows you to add this functionality.
Or, the other option. Create the PDF file then encrypt it with your own program with the specified password. Then use your program as an in-between for the password protection. Once the file is decoded then send it to adobe reader.

Well, if its a tool from someone called Rebex, I suggest asking them - after all, they wrote the software.

Just out of curiosity, I went to the REBEX site and I notice that the downloads contain EXAMPLES.
It's always URGENT and you should already have the codz
And I hope I'm not just feeding a troll - again

Hi
I have a Base class which exposes some public properties, and I derive a second class.
I want the second class, not to have some of the public properties of its parent.
(I don't want to use Shadows statement to create a new empty property, I want to hide it completely)
Could you please help me?

Found the solution:
<code>
<bindable(false), EditorBrowsable(EditorBrowsableState.Never), Browsable(False)> _
Public Shadows Property GridType() As GridTypes
Get
End Get
Set(ByVal value As GridTypes)
End Set
End Property</code>

Hi All;
I have a dll created as a ComClass using VB.Net. I have it registered on a server using regasm. There is an application on the server (called SPSS) that as part of it functionality, calls a method on the dll when a button is pressed. It all works great. However, on a remote workstation, is a satellite installation of SPSS that when started, starts an instance on the server. When that same button is pressed, it calls back to the instance on the server which in turn calls the dll. That call fails. SPSS is written in Foxpro, and the call to the dll is quite simple:
foo = CREATEOBJECT("Object.Method")
foo.Execute(variables)
It gives me an error stating "foo is not an object". The line that throws that error is the foo.Execute() line.
Any idea why this process would work when called from the server, but not when called from a workstation?
Thanks,
Dave

Your explanation isn't all that clear. I'm assuming you mean that the remote machine creates the "Object.Method" (NOT what you're supposed to do!) on the server. Well, you didn't tell the CreateObject method to create it on the server. You told it to create the object on the local machine. That is, unless you registered the object's proxy on the remote machine.
Now, you don't create an instance of a method. You create an instance of an object, then call a method on it. It should be CreateObject("Namespace.Class") .

Dunno. Obviously not a bookmark if it has an arrow on it. Don't think I've seen that before. Curious to see what the heck you did.
Any suggestions, ideas, or 'constructive criticism' are always welcome.

I believe that what you did was, Ctrl K Ctrl H, which inserts a comment token. All you have to do to remove is it another Ctrl K Ctrl H.

Thanks very much Roy. That did the trick

Hey cool Roy. It's a shortcut, and much more useful than a book mark. I shall be making great use of that from now on. The marked line shows in Shortcuts under Tasks. Thanks again. David

Yes! Very cool. Never knew that existed.

I am writing a program in VB.NET that populates an Excel spreadsheet.
I know that it is not possible to have autoheight or autofit on merged
cells. I need the height of the row to expand to fit an undetermined amount
of text. I wonder if anyone has code to get around this problem. I need to
find a way to get around this problem and fast. Anyone found a way around it?

Which version of Excel. You can do this in 2007.

I have written an application in VB.NET that downloads FLV videos from a website. I can download and save the videos just fine and all works well. Now I would like to have the option to convert the videos to an AVI format and save them that way. Does anyone know how to accomplish this. I was thinking something along the lines of FFMpeg but I don't want to run a seperate process from my application. If I could import a DLL or something and do it that way it would be great. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I haven't used any libraries like this, but you may want to take at look through this[^] list.

You gotta say what it is you are trying to do, and what's stopping you.

So far, all you've got is a little code that reads an entire file into a Textbox. There's nothing that parses the file up into fields and mvoes it into a DataTable that you can use to bind a grid to.
You might want to take a look at this[^] to parse the CSV up into usable data.
