There are several choices. Some of them:
- you sum the values before you send the data to crystal
- in crystal use formulas to calculate the sums and show the results of the formulas
- place the original rows in detail section and create a group for summed values. If detail rows are not needed, set detailes section to invisible.
Hope this helps.

I have grouped it by name but i am not getting the correct sum of similar row.
Can i use sm formula on these group fields,if yes how can i do it.

The easiest way is to first use Group Expert to create a grouping section and then use Summaty on that group to add summing field.
You can create a formula also. Simply add a new Formula Field and use Sum-function. After that place the formula on group section.

Hello,
I have to use a smoothing algorithm in my COde. I am using Visual C++ .Net 2008 with 3.5 framwork.
I am reading a data through serial port from a target device and this data is store into a XML file. I have to display(plot) this data on the window. For ploting the waveform, i read the data from the XML file, and draw(Plot) the point using "Drawline" function. but the curve generated is not in Smooth shape. It shows some noise(like steps).So in this case I want to use smoothing algorithm but dont know how to use it.So plz can anyone tell me how to use smoothing algorithm? its urgent so plz help me out.
Thanks and Regards,
Abhijit

Microsoft Sync Framework v1.0 is now RTM and is now available to download[^].
Sync Framework Highlights
- Add sync support to new and existing applications, services, and devices
- Enable collaboration and offline capabilities for any application
- Roam and share information from any data store, over any protocol, and over any network configuration
- Leverage sync capabilities exposed in Microsoft technologies to create sync ecosystems
- Extend the architecture to support custom data types including files
Microsoft Sync Framework is a comprehensive synchronization platform that enables collaboration and offline scenarios for applications, services and devices. Developers can build sync ecosystems that integrate any application, any type of data, using any protocol over any network.
The Microsoft Sync Framework provides a platform for taking web services and databases offline. In addition, it provides optimized P2P sync of any type of file including contacts, music, videos, images and settings. The extensible framework includes built-in support for synchronizing databases, NTFS/FAT file systems, FeedSync compliant feeds (formerly known as Simple Sharing Extensions), devices and web services.

That's a bit puzzling as i thought it had been RTMed about two months ago. I upgraded to SyncToy 2.0 then and it said it was based on Sync Framework 1.0.

now I still create a syntax editor(just like vb.net) using VB.Net 2005. but its for general programming language. but I have some trouble! , The control work very slowly when colorize more then 30 lines. I use RichTextBox to create this control. Any one can help me?????

Errrm. You seem to be jumping about a bit here. First it's a web browser, next a syntax editor. These are both fairly ambitious tasks. What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish with these tasks? Are you relatively new to programming and looking for something to teach yourself on? If so, please pick something simpler as you are heading towards trouble.
If you are serious, then you need to be manipulating the raw RTF. One way to do it is to use a separate thread to perform the text manipulation on.

Good God, what's next? Some super secure OS?

I want to create a new web browser without using windows component!
any one know how to create the web browser basicly?
and also I wana create a web editor(WSWYG)!

That's one hell of an ambitious undertaking. Good luck, and we'll see you back here in 3 years when you've finished the basics.

Yes, it is.

Yes, and whatever "neat" functionality he puts into it, will probably be so last year

There's entire teams of people out there who devoted YEARS of their lives comming up with Mozilla and FireFox, and you want to create your own?? Does that fact tell you anything about how long it's going to take a single person to do??

Brainstorm and research and you shall get it!
But rather join the Mozilla team and code modules for Firefox. That way you will have a greater understanding of browser concepts than having us tell you some random thoughts on browser design.
And your friends will see you in much better books if you tell them you belong to Firefox dev team rather than ABCBrowse (or whatever name you thought for it) dev team

Hi,
I have a requirement where in we need to fetch the member details within a DL. The DL resides within a Organizational Unit (OU). The DL name is DistributionList1 & OU name is Container1
I have written the below code to fetch the list of members to get individual member details & add it to my Member collection object
public void GetDLMembers()
{
string _displayName;
string _givenName;
string _mail;
DirectorySearcher search;
DirectoryEntry entry;
ArrayList listOfMatchingItems = new ArrayList();
entry = new DirectoryEntry("LDAP://my.domain.com/CN=DistributionList1,OU=Container1,DC=my,DC=domain,DC=com");
entry.AuthenticationType = AuthenticationTypes.Secure;
search = new DirectorySearcher(entry);
search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("mail");
search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("givenName");
search.PropertiesToLoad.Add("displayName");
string _Name;
SearchResultCollection searchResults = search.FindAll();
foreach (SearchResult result in searchResults)
{
foreach (String objName in result.GetDirectoryEntry().Properties["member"])
{
int selIndex = objName.IndexOf("CN=") + 3;
int selEnd = objName.IndexOf(",OU") - 3;
_Name = objName.Substring(selIndex, selEnd).Replace("\\", "");
DirectorySearcher dsSearch = new DirectorySearcher(entry);
dsSearch.Filter = "CN=" + _Name;
SearchResultCollection searchResults1 = dsSearch.FindAll();
foreach (SearchResult rs in searchResults1)
{
_displayName = rs.Properties["displayName"][0].ToString();
_givenName = rs.Properties["givenName"][0].ToString();
_mail = rs.Properties["mail"][0].ToString();
...
Logic to add it to the my customised collection object
}
}
}
}
For some reason the searchResults1 count is 0. Where its expected that the count for the searchResults1 collection should be 1. It will fetch the data of an account based on the CN. Any idea whats wrong in the code? Is there some thing wrong with the LDAP Path? Is there any better approach for accomplishing the functionality? If yes then any pointers to this will be very helpful.

Have you tried running the application as an Administrator. (In vista it is not enough to run with the account as an administrator. You need to adjust the app for UAC prompts to elevate the process to administrative rights.

Hi
I am trying to modify class instance members using reflection. I am having problem when trying to add/remove/display elements related to List<int> member.
Following is the code.
class TestClass
{
public int i = 0;
public int IValue
{
get
{
return i;
}
set
{
i = value;
}
}
public List<int> m_intList = new List<int>();
}
class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{
TestClass tcObject = new TestClass();
tcObject.i = 1;
tcObject.m_intList.Add(1);
tcObject.m_intList.Add(2);
{
FieldInfo fieldInfo = tcObject.GetType().
GetField(
"i",
BindingFlags.Static |
BindingFlags.Instance |
BindingFlags.NonPublic |
BindingFlags.Public);
fieldInfo.SetValue(tcObject, 2);
System.Console.WriteLine("I value '{0}'", fieldInfo.GetValue(tcObject));
}
{
PropertyInfo propertyInfo = tcObject.GetType().
GetProperty(
"IValue",
BindingFlags.Static |
BindingFlags.Instance |
BindingFlags.NonPublic |
BindingFlags.Public);
MethodInfo propertySetMethodInfo =
propertyInfo.GetSetMethod(true);
propertySetMethodInfo.Invoke(tcObject, new Object[] { 3 });
System.Console.WriteLine("Property IValue '{0}'", tcObject.i);
}
{
FieldInfo fieldInfo = tcObject.GetType().
GetField(
"m_intList",
BindingFlags.Static |
BindingFlags.Instance |
BindingFlags.NonPublic |
BindingFlags.Public);
foreach (int intItem in tcObject.m_intList)
{
System.Console.WriteLine("List Item value '{0}'", intItem);
}
}
}
}
</string></int></int></int>
Thanks
Chandra

At compile time I do not know whether the type is List<int> or List<string>. At runtime I should interpret it from the fieldInfo.FieldType.
|
|
|
|
|
I even tried the following code
MethodInfo addMethodInfo = fieldInfo.FieldType.GetMethod("Add");
object[] intValue = { 5 };
addMethodInfo.Invoke(tcObject, new Object[] { 5 });
But the above code gives me error "Unhandled Exception: System.Reflection.TargetException: Object does not match target type." when executing the "invoke"
