Well, there are some standards like for USB connected storage devices, i'm not sure if there are such for controlling a video camera but i guess there could be, i mean, most cams give you the same possibilities, like play, rewind, stop, such, so why not have a standard for that, my cam could be controlled thorough firewire, maybe try looking into that to see if there are any docs around.

Well yes, firewire itself is an interface. Check out this link about firewire[^] and look at the Interface section, there's something called AV/C, that looks like something you'd use to control a camera.

Hi,
In my application, which have number of dialogs. In a dialog already created, I added a button control.
When I try to add event handler function for this button thru class wizard I got an error message:
"Error in updating files(s)(C:Documen.......\ModelOpen.cpp,C:Doc....\ModelOpen.h) for class "CModelOpen"."
I also checked that files,its not in Read Only. Then where is the problem?
Also I tried deleting and recreating the .NCB and .CLW files. But in vain.
Pls help me and provide me a solution.

did you try to add the handlers manually. There is no magic done by the editor apart from adding the code at the right place. You just need to figure out where and why

Just a guess though, did you confirm that the file ModelOpen.* are present and act as a class for your dialog.
Was it possible for you to add a member variable/event handler to any other control on the dialog prior to this
You need to google first, if you have "It's urgent please" mentioned in your question.

Yes both the source and header files are present and are included in this project.
I was n't able to add message handler for other new controls also.
When I tried to add member variable for the same button control, the same error message came but the member variable got created. And also all the message handlers got added up so all the message handlers got repeated.

May be you have edited the wizard generated code (grayed code) some where in those files. e.g. code between AFX_DATA_MAP or AFX_MSG_MAP tags.
You should not edit the code between the tags used by wizard.

Hi .. in one of my function(exported) i have to pass a variable of POSITION type. I have looked for its definition, which I found in afx.h file

It is just a pointer to any type. You cant initialize it with your own value, except NULL. There are classes with member functions that return a POSITION type value. Like CObList.

Yes.
here is a logic commonly used to load context menus:
You have to create a menu with id IDR_POPUP,
put this in onNMRclick handler in your Dialog class.
