I am new to development. Could anyone suggest,what are the different downloads I would have to do,to start learning c# on the .NET framework?

If you have .net, you have all you need. The framework includes CSC, the command-line compiler for C#.
I suggest you open a DOS box, write a "hello world" console app, and compile it.

Guys, we are all developers here --most at least--
I found out about this great little companion for developers and non-developers: http://tinypad.info/[^]
It's really slick and very light. I got so used to it, I can't turn it off.
Another great yet simple idea! Made with .NET 3.5
Just thought I might share this with you all!

I far prefer OrangeNote[^] made by one of the CP regulars. I use this tool regularly.

yeah that's another great, two separate concepts though.
Tiny Pad is much lighter on the system. I really like the archiving feature. The highlighting and the firefox-like search are real key features.
What's a real bummer is that there's no tagging like OrangeNote.
I heard the next version will work on Unix/Mac.
Thanks for sharing!

How to Generate a color palette from an image?
Just like,
http://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromanimage
Check the above link for demo.
How to do that in .NET?
Any Ideas?
Thanks in Advance.

All you do is call GetPixel on a Bitmap object to return the color at a specific location in the image.

Thanks Dave for your reply.
But GetPixel is for getting pixel from a particular (x,y) in the image.
We can iterate through the image and we can findout all the colors in the image by using that.
But i have to analyse the whole image and need to find only few colors which are unique in the image,but not the whole colors.
So i think some complex logic will be there for analysing only unique colors.
I tried some logics.But i think may be some good logics there for finding it out.
Any ideas 4 that?

That makes the problem a bit more clear. In that case, I have no idea. But, I'd probably start by researching histograms to see if they would play any part in the algorithm.

A method I've used in the past is Gervautz-Purgathofer octree color quantization...

Hi all,
i have serached in google n found out the way to add print functionality to the browser.
My problem is i want to add extra data to the print other than the content of the web page.
Please suggest me for this problem.
Thanks.

What you could do, is use CSS and add items into your page that only get shown by a print version of your CSS. You should start with this page[^] to get an idea of what I'm talking about.

Hi ,
i am using axwebbrowser in a windows form application. Sorry i didnt mentioned it in my original post..
in my windows application , i have embeded the axwebbrowser and placed one button. On click of that button i am calling the below method
public void PrintBrowser()
{
object o = "";
// constants useful when printing
SHDocVw.OLECMDID Print = SHDocVw.OLECMDID.OLECMDID_PRINT;
// use this value to print with prompting
SHDocVw.OLECMDEXECOPT PromptUser =
SHDocVw.OLECMDEXECOPT.OLECMDEXECOPT_PROMPTUSER;
//SHDocVw.OLECMDEXECOPT DontPromptUser =
//SHDocVw.OLECMDEXECOPT.OLECMDEXECOPT_DONTPROMPTUSER;
if (!IsPrinterEnabled()) return;
// print with prompting user
//axWebBrowser1.ExecWB(Print, DontPromptUser, ref o, ref o);
// to prompt the user with printer settings
axWebBrowser.ExecWB(Print, PromptUser, ref o, ref o);
}
This method prompts the print dialog using ExecWB(..) method and prints the content of the web browser alone . My question is i need to add some header and footer text and also some extra texts to the content of the browser content. Can u help me out to solve thsi problem.
Thanks.

I've already told you what a possible solution is. Where the webbrowser is hosted doesn't matter - it's still consuming the same HTML.

THe problem is i dont have control over the web page. I just host the url in the axwebbrowser.
I am calling the print dialog from the axwebbrowser's ExecWb method.
can u provide me some sample as how to use that html code in C#.thanks.
