In servelet, how can i read an xml file

Look inside javax.xml.parsers . You need to use DocumentBuilder and the factory class which creates DocumentBuilder . There will be enough examples if you search for it.

Hello everyone. My name is Sachin. I'm doing an Image Processing project & for that I've to convert a colored image into a grayscale image. I wanted to know how can we get a pixel from an image using Java so that I can perform further operations on it. There is no such function like "getPixel()" or anything related to getting a pixel from an image. So please help me out. Can anyone give me the code to convert a colored image to grayscale image? I'll be waiting for your replies.
Thanks in Advance.

Hello everyone. My name is Sachin. I wanted to know how to insert large numerical values such as mobile numbers into the database (MS Access) using java. I've tried using Integer & LongInteger in MS Access and setInteger in Java, but I'm getting Number Format Exceptions. So I'm looking forward for your suggestions.
Thanks in Advance.

phone numbers are always text - just because there could be other chars in it like / or - .
So don't try to convert them.

Hello,
This is Reuben. I have to develop a "packet filter" for my final year
B.E. project. If anyone can give me the source code to block an ip packet, it would be of much use.

i think you are makeing firewall in java.
in java there is no api to discard network packet you should make firewall in vc and pack in dll then call it from java by using JNI
search on firewall hook driver (implement in vc)

For my Java class, I have to implement a computer version of the game of Simon (with the color panel sequence). In the program, I have a subclass of JButton, SimonButton. I want SimonButton to display a dimmed color. The SimonButtons are in a JPanel, which is in a JFrame. I do this by giving it a low alpha as such:
public void setColor(Color color) {
this.setBackground(new Color(color.getRed(),
color.getGreen(),
color.getBlue(),
alpha));
}
with alpha = 20.
The program starts off working well, but every time I move the mouse over a button, the color becomes brighter. I'm assuming that the SimonButtons are just being drawn over each other, thus making the colors cumulative. How do I make it so that the buttons get completely redrawn instead of drawing over top of them?

I planned to create a free web service that provide webcam streaming capability.
1. When a user login to the page
2. The user attach his webcam to the computer
3. Webcam will be detected and the video is broadcasted live
4. Other users will be able to view the broadcast anywhere
I planned to use Java to build this service, but I am not sure Java will have libraries that support such features. I know Adobe to offer such streaming capability, but i would like to know whether Java has any similar libraries or third party apps. Cost is the main concern as I would like to reduce the cost of this service.
Opinions are welcomed !!
